|chalikman||Same damb problem with mine ur vaccume actuator on the front axle needs replaced or upgraded to the cable and also the vacume port on top of the transfer case can be the problem replace both to get rid of the problem for a simple fix and without having to upgrade anything|

The Posi Lok was something i had looked into, but i didn't really want to run a cable to the cab. (I know it is prob easy as hell though)
I really don't use 4x4 till the snow comes regardless. So having the wheel hop with the way i drive is crazy thoughts. lol
My axle guy was telling me that the new style axle in jeeps these days allow for no wheel hop. Doubt they make kits for 93's, but if the new models were to fit i'd be in heaven. Anyone know what i am writing about?

The downside about rigging the fork so it's always engaged is that the front axle is not balanced, and will cause some decent vibrations.
From what I've researched, if you use it as a DD, or if it goes highway speeds, having the fork always engaged isn't the best of idea.
There are ways to get around this. I can't really remember them.
But, honestly... I think the best bang for your buck deal is to get a Posi-Lock, something like this:
4x4 Posi-Lok Positive Axle Engagement System for Jeeps
There are other ones, more expensive and the like. But I think that has good reviews. (Not 100% sure), it is the second choice if you Google "Posi Lock Jeep YJ".
I've decided if my CAD actuator died, I'm going to replace it with that.

|Dr. Venture||I'd love it in 4x4 24/7 as well. BUT the downfall is turning radius. I dont know about all your jeeps but mine can't turn very good less i disengage. Then its easy to manuever around tight spots. I was actually looking into seeing if i can upgrade my front axels to the new jeep style. The redesign is amazing and allows for maximum turning capabilities. So far no good on that though.|

The fix is super-easy. Just remove the snap ring, move the shifter fork over, and replace the snapring in the same spot so the shifter fork stays where it needs to

|gunslinger24||I've seen this also. I think the reason jeep went with a 2 piece shaft was to prevent wear on the bearings and improve mileage, so those two things might suffer.|

|gunslinger24||Check the wiring attached to the shift fork sensor, see if it's damaged. If its ok, your fears could be a reality. I switched to a cable actuator.|

4x4 light flashes
Hello everyone. So sometimes before the big snow season comes i engage my 4x4 so that it gets in some pre work out sessions before the main snow use. Lately i feel it engage somewhat clunky, and then myu 4x4 light flashes as i drive. Any ideas what this could be? Perhaps the vacuum valve is not engaging the fork properly? It ends up working, but i am a little iffy about it and i am not looking to be a hero then get stuck at the wrong times.
