4.0l sahara ya but if one is shot now the other will go out not to far down the road. So why not just do it once and be done? How many miles on your rig.

Jonny15 i was thinking about it but whitebuffalo is right, i can only do one side at a time so it makes it no easier for me to do both, especially seeing as the other side is fine...

Jonny15 So im assuming i can use the updated and stronger spicer 760x for a replacement u joint rather than the older 297x i probably have in my 99. I found one for 22.99, but just out of curiosity anyone know of any place that sells em cheaper then that?

mr4x4 ujoints are easy you pull the axle go to the press
press the joint out then press it back in
it took me 15-30min. for the two on my rear driveshaft that was with pulling it out
the axle will take a little longer (more to remove)

Jonny15 good to hear its not that bad but thing is i've never replaced a u joint anywhere before so im just lookin for a basic step by step if anyone can give me one...

whitebuffalo i did mine. its not bad. kind of a PITA to get the ujoint out, but not much worse than a driveahaft one. you just pull the axle shaft and then its basically the same as any other ujoint.

left front u joint

So i went for a state inspection the other day and my mechanic told me that the left front u joint was in bad shape and not long for this world. I thought it was bad before i went too because i could feel it was sloppy when i was in 4wd. Has anyone here replaced either of their front u joint's? I'm thinking about doing it myself to save the labor fee's but i dont know how to do it or hard hard it is to do...
