Had them on my Tj fore awhile. The tire itself as hundreds of sipes which make it a great tire in snow and wet pavement.

Barmanvarn @KJ:

The description on the Duratracs, though not specifically a snow tire, says they are great for winter driving. They also will accept studs.

I don't have a set (yet) so hopefully an owner can chime in.

coolphred Ya that might be my best bet is to go with the 5 steel rims with a set of snows. I still have a lot of tread left on my SR-A's anyway so it would be a waste to get rid of them at this point.

jkjeeper06 People rave about duratracs here. Have you considered a snow tire tho? People sell the mopar steel rims for a dime a dozen on craigslist. You could always get a nice set of blizzacks mounted on their own set of rims so you can change them yourself. If you have 100-200 to spare for 5 steel rims that would probably be the best bet especially in colorado

Irongrave Bridestone revos or firestone ATs are the 2 best tires I've personally run in the snow

Newbie tire question

Hey guys,

New JK owner here, got an 09 2door x about a week ago. I live in Denver, CO and like to go up to the mountains for skiing and other stuff. Question is, what is a good set of tires for snow driving (no wheelin' yet). I'm running GY SY-A's right now. This is my DD so I'm looking for something to get me around the city and also get me up to the mountains.

Advice appreciated.
