do you have any upgrades on your rig such as a bodylift or suspension lift?? If you dont know then post few pics of your rig
also does the lever move at all or is it completely frozen in 4 hi?

Thanks for all the advice! Hope it's not too expensive to fix. I actually live in Manhattan. I'll try looking at the T-case from the outside. Regarding a place to fix it I would have to drive out to it, drop it off and hopefully have some sort of public transp. close by to return to the city. I've done it before in Jersey when I first bought it at the stealership on Rt46 and they had a bus at the door that came right into Port Authority.

Unfortunately it doesn't sound that unreasonable as they would have to drop the pan, remove the case, then break it open to see what they could find. It sucks, but at 100 bucks an hour plus parts that's what it comes out to.
However before you took it somewhere there is a couple things you can check on your own. Your 4wd selector is attached to the TCase by a series of linkages that are affixed to the body. There are a couple of plastic grommets at different points that can crack and fall out leaving the linkages bound up. Pop under there with a flash light on the drivers side and see if you can verify that all of the linkages seem to be attached correctly at both the shifter, TCase and Body.
If that doesn't seem to be the culprit then I compeltely agree with Jerry that 231 cases can be had and installed on ones own for way less than 1500.

|Jerry Bransford||Crap you can buy a new t-case for that amount. If you're not mechanical enough to pull the skidplate and look for yourself, I'd go to a 4x4 shop and have them check the t-case lever mechanism for binding or perhaps it just slipped out of adjustment.|

Stuck 4x4 gear handle
The handle that controls my 4x4 gears on my 03 Sport is stuck and doesn't wanna go anywhere. I tried pulling it into 4x4 while moving as well as stopped but nothing. I took it to one place that said that they would need to open the transfer case to see what is wrong and it would cost anywhere from $700 to $1500. Does this sound reasonable? Any recommendations on transfer case/transmission places in the NYC/Long Island/Northern NJ area? Thanks and Happy New Year!
