ORNGCR8 Mine happened at around 6k mi. Was lucky that it was small enough to repair by filling it. Windshield repair guy charged $60 and it stops the spread of a spider crack becoming bigger.

Anyone know where we can source the Mopar OEM windshields with the Jeep grill logos in the top center? Is the dealer the only bet? I'm also thinking scrapyard for a totaled Jeep when it's time to replace.

wile_coyote My Rubicon, 202 miles on it and first chip in the windshield...

PA ARCTIC they dont stay new long. we had a mild winter, so i avoided any chips/cracks. going home last night from work. middle of may. roads clean and dry. a few cars passed. then i heard it. "crack" after a wash this morning, no damage. just a small pit in the windshield from the impact of the rock. 5K miles. first one hurts the most. i am sure there will be many more. flat windshield = damage. part of JEEP ownership.

Interesting (thinking)

Cv2065 I only had 1K miles on mine and got on the interstate for the first time heading down to Miami. Wouldn't you know it, got behind 3 dump trucks, all carrying a load of sand and rocks. I tried to dodge in and and out, but it was just too much. One got me right on the front grill. Didn't chip the paint, but was enough to dent the plastic.

If you have debris flying off of your vehicle, damaging others, there should be some liability there. A few complete repaints and maybe they will start tightening up how they transport this stuff.

azyjjk I got a chip in my 08 when it had only 700 miles on it. A car was in the lane next to me going the opposite direction and that was when it happened.

kjeeper10 3 Jeeps at least 7 windshields, it is inevitable
Jk's window is a bit more angled, I'm sure I'll have to replace at some point but so far
so good.
I do believe the po had it replaced it already- no Mopar symbol.

The Yj/Tj front was flat and very cheep to replace (around $100) not sure about 07-12

With the Jeep and do my best to avoid being behing bigrigs as that's where the majority of the rocks com from.
At least rigs have mud flaps. I was behind a car with plenty of traveling space in-between us. I guess a random thrown rock and 75+mph to the front windshield is a bad combination haha.

Didn't take long....

Just got back yesterday from a 800 mile round trip to upstate New York with a rock chipped front windshield(1700miles total on 2012 JKU). The angle of the windshield on jeeps have always been prone to this but it would have blown the windshield out if I was in my old yj haha. Safelite repair hear I come
