TJNewbie I just installed this kit.- Spacer lift (budget boost lift-BBL) by Skyjacker 2.25" lift kit, with Hydro shocks for $229 from www.4wheelcustoms.com no other changes needed. if you decide to upgrade the lift later with 3" springs, you can still use the Skyjacker hydro shocks that come with the 2.25" lift kit.

Wazzick My TJ is a daily driver and fairly stock. 2" BB and 33's. It drives very well. It came with 29's on it and 7" wide wheels. After about 10k I put in the lift and went to discount tire and told them to squeeze as much rubber under there as they could. I don't do much off road but I wanted a DD that looked more aggresive. I park next to jeeps whenever possible, just out of camaraderie, sometimes they're stock sometimes they're rock crawlers. But whenever I see her next to a stocker I'm always happy about my additions.

I got the Rubicon Express 2" lift [about 4 yrs ago] with their cheaper shocks, and have since put in Rancho 5k's.
I got 33x12.5 BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires and MB 72 wheels. Matching Spare.

I feel it drives much like stock.
I get quite a few compliments along the vein of "Just enough but not too much..."

TJDrillSergeant get coil spacers. i actually think someone is selling a 1 3/4" on here. i run a 2 1/4" coil spacers and 31" swampers. great setup. didnt spend much at all.

04tjgirl Btw, that price was with five rims and five tires. I know some don't replace all 5 but I had the $ plus I hate to see Jeeps with 4 really nice rims and an ugly stocker mounted on the back. Just my $.02...

04tjgirl I recently purchased a 2.25 inch BB lift with the Skyjacker hydro shocks. I also went to 31x10.50x15 BFG's and aftermarket rims. I couldn't be happier so far. My jeep is also a DD and might see a few trails for white water rafting, fishing, camping etc. I too wanted the "look" without compromising my wallet and gas mileage so that's why I went with the package I did. The ride is still very close to stock and all around I'm happy. I got everything at 4 wheels customs....new tires, rims, shocks and lift was around $1600...the lift with the shocks was $229. The shipping wasn't free which I wasn't very happy about I still saved money compared to other places I looked even after I paid for shipping. Let us know what you decide....and post pics! Lift and shocks---daily driver for looks only

I have a 2003 TJ bone stock. I want to add slightly larger tires (31 inch BFG A/T?) and want a slight lift. This will be a road use vehicle 99% of the time...I just want it to look like a jeep should...but I also want it to ride nicely and not beat me to death. I will never be rock climbing of off-roading except for the occassional hunting trip (read 'mud')

I have been looking at Rubicon express and Skyjacker kits for around $250-$300. I have heard folks talk about getting the 'better' shocks for these kits but I'm confused...the 'better' shocks in the Skyjacker kit is cheaper and the 'better' shocks in the RE kit are $200 more. Should I just get a 2 inch lift kit without shocks and buy the best shocks for me (regardless of brand) ??? Any input welcomed.
