O3jeep I just thought I would throw my .02 in here as well. I had similar experience working on Jeeps or any vehicle for that matter before I did my lift on my old Jeep. Now I have done it 4 or 5 times and could do it in my sleep. I am hopefully getting back into a jeep in the next few weeks and will possibly be doing a mild lift come springtime. I agree with the guys on here and do your research. Good Luck and have fun. DJ

TJNewbie That's prolly' your best bet. take some time do some research, figure out what you can afford. but most of the lifts are fairly easy to install. as long as you have the tools or have a friend that has the tools.

if you need a spring compressor, you can "borrow" one from auto-zone, you just pay a deposit, then you get it back when you bring back the compressor, sweet deal!

If you've got a little extra spending $ for a lift. Look into Savvy spring lifts, 2-3" lifts, can just swap longer springs/shocks, actually easier than doing the BBL. (budget boost lift with shocks) and still maintain a better than factory ride.

Hey thanks on the offer! I was thinking of doing it soon, but since snow is expected to come in as soon as next week, I think I'll hold it off till Spring.

Besides, it give me enough time to think about what/how much lift I need.

And since we're already in the topic, I wanted to ask what lift setup is best for me? First off, this Jeep is my daily driver, so I was thinking about 2-2.5 in, since I've read somewhere that lifting increases your blind spot (or reduces your mirror's vision [I might be wrong]).

And being the DD, I think the max wheel size I'm gunning for is 32's. I've read on the forums that 33's sees a noticeable loss of power.

And I want to keep it simple since, like I said, I don't have any experience of know how on lifting Jeeps, so I don't even want to think about SYE/CV's (which I honestly don't know stands for), t-case drops, etc.

Thanks again!!

Thanks for the info! And I'll try and look at write-ups. But I always get lost when they start dropping parts name that I don't even know existed.
