Me to, it was Auto Computer Exchange | Remanufactured OEM Auto Computers out of FL. They programmed it to my VIN, pretty nice lookin box all powder coated black, clean, new labels, custom tag with my jeep information, etc... That was back in '09 and I am very happy to not have had any trouble with it.

sevenservices but, EVERYTHING must match.

Same size engine
Same distributor
Same transmision
Same wiring harness
Same dashboard

Any feature that can you can have/not have must be programed into the computer based off the VIN of the vehicle. I think that is where your trouble is. If there are options in a 95' that were not around yet in a 90, its not going to work for you. Or if ones an automatic and one is a manual, etc...

darkproximity a 1990 ECU is the old renix based system.. so its not OBD1.. as timberwolf said 91-95 should work..

as far as TJ components, none of the ones that ended up in the YJ were anything computer controlled..

Timberwolf 91-95 should work, although 95 was a transition year as some TJ components started to show up towards the end of YJ production

95 computer swapability?

I have a 95 2.5 with a bad computer. Swapped it out with a cumputer from a 90 2.5. Guess what... yeah didn't start. Does anyone know if the computers are the same or do I need a newer computer? Or year specific?
