|rjeepr||Ok that helps. Computer came from a 5 speed and the 95 is an auto, plus I did find a couple diffrences is the harness. Thanks|

but, EVERYTHING must match.
Same size engine
Same wiring harness
Any feature that can you can have/not have must be programed into the computer based off the VIN of the vehicle. I think that is where your trouble is. If there are options in a 95' that were not around yet in a 90, its not going to work for you. Or if ones an automatic and one is a manual, etc...

a 1990 ECU is the old renix based system.. so its not OBD1.. as timberwolf said 91-95 should work..
as far as TJ components, none of the ones that ended up in the YJ were anything computer controlled..

95 computer swapability?
I have a 95 2.5 with a bad computer. Swapped it out with a cumputer from a 90 2.5. Guess what... yeah didn't start. Does anyone know if the computers are the same or do I need a newer computer? Or year specific?
