|darkproximity||an older head wont wont bolt up to that block.. plus the cam profile in the newer block is different and is meant for the crappy head.. also again the motor mounts are very different on the 2000+ blocks.. wont line up correctly..|

You don't have to go through all of that. Call up NOVAK. They make bushing that will fit your application. All you should have to do it swap out the bushing. It is simple. You may have to check the length of your input shaft to the old one. The new one may have to be cut down, but you can do this yourself with a hack saw and a good file. This has been done by others on this forum and the Jeep Forum.

|YJ880||Looks like if you want to replace it your going to have to spend quite a bit. Might as well rebuild the one you have or find another one thats the same year. Well Im glad I did the research instead of buying it. It was a sweet deal to. I guess to good to be true. :/|

91 to 92 AX 15 4WD trans swap ***KNOWLEDGE NEEDED***
1988 to 1991 AX15 input shafts have a smaller (~19/32") pilot tip. 1992-1999 AX15's have a larger (~3/4") pilot tip.
I was thinking about buying a trans off a 91 YJ AX 15 4WD tomarrow to put in my 92 YJ until I found this out! Can input shafts be changed or what???
