Neil F. The other thing about using white bulbs, if you have any sort of ultra white/bright headlights, the white markers/blinkers will look yellow or dull. Now with the Wrangler there blinker/marker is separated from the headlight unlike most other vehicles where it is in one assembly.

Neil F. The color of the illumination depends on your state vehicle regulations, inspections and how much your law enforcement enforces it. In NJ the blinker my illuminate yellow or white. The side, I am not sure about. I don't believe you can (depends on the cops) have white on the side.

Triple88a the side marker doesnt need to be yellow does it? I mean you have the blinker that is yellow, does the side marker matter?

Neil F. You can get both for 40 shipped. Send them a message and they will put up more if they are not up for auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...176206226&rd=1

But you still should put some non yellow bulbs behind them. The yellow will still show I have silverstars in the front turn indicators. The bluish hue of the silverstars goes with my intense blue paint. You can get all silver bulbs or the cheap way out is to lightly hit the yellow bulb with silver spray. I have 194 LEDs in the side marker.

Triple88a i think clear would look good if the fenders are nice and dark unless the jeep body is a very bright color.

350chevrolet i would not use paint thiner on the plastic. but i dont think clear lenses would look to good either. maybe on black or white but i would still go with tinted over clear. ill leave the clear stuff to the hondas and other imports. even tho i did have clear on my bmw, but now iv got black, its a black car.

Exactly....plus even if they were painted and you could remove it you'd still have to replace all the bulbs with orange ones to make it street legal

In Silver jeeps looks good too.

I though about that but since mine is green mmmmmmmm nope, really don’t look good on green.

I think the clear lenses are kind of pricy for what they really are.

mr4x4 I just picked mine up off ebay paid like $40 with shipping

98TJ i installed LED bulbs on mine. If you just do the front turn signals you should be fine but if you install LED bulbs all the way around the relay senses that there isnt enough resistance in the system (the way i read the article) The stock relay has a built in feature that makes it double flash because it thinks that a bulb is out when in reality you just have LEDs instead of normal bulbs. This is just what I have found to happen. Trial and error!!!
01-17-2008 07:55 PM
nicolas-eric the stock relay will not work with LEDs?
that´s new to me.

i wanted to replace the yellow bulbs with LEDs this spring.

perhaps i should buy some "osram diadem" or "phillips silver vision" bulbs. they are silver and when they are turned on they become yellow.

98TJ I once saw a set of smoked lenses on ebay that looked sweet. I am painting my flares red as I have a red Jeep. I want to go with the clear lenses but the smoked ones kinda threw my decision in the air on this one. I will have to see which is a better deal.

A possible solution to seeing the yellow bulbs when they are off is to buy the LED bulb set from your local auto parts store. The are clear off as well and yellow when on. Just make sure you get the yellow ones and not the clear ones! Also if you have any other LED bulbs in your lighting system, you will probably need a modified or different relay for your signal system.

The exact relay is an EP-26 for those of you who need the number for the relay. Make sure it says LEDS on it though. (Courtesy of stu's offroad)

nicolas-eric i bought mine at 4wd.com when they had a 15% rebate on alllighting parts.

Jonny15 Here's a link to the kit for both sets of lenses for about 70...

And Nico the first thing i notice on your jeep are those clear lenses, they look great! Can't wait to put mine on too.
01-17-2008 05:22 PM

01-17-2008 05:18 PM
solo97tj on my jeep i was going to get clear but i was in the same boat your in i didn't wanna pay that so i got some night shade and did that but if you want clear you will half to pay for it clear about 100.00 nite shade $12.00 small can of clear $3.55 you do the math!
01-17-2008 04:36 PM
tequila1pint Fleabay is the only place I've found them at a reasonable $. I was looking at the same since my JEEP is white.
01-17-2008 02:59 PM
Jonny15 Putting them on a black jeep will look good, i got some for my black jeep, im just waiting til spring to put them on cause im gonna paint my flares before i put them on. If you're gonna get them off quadratec remember to get the package that includes both the parking and corner signal lenses together so you save money!
01-17-2008 01:59 PM
debruins yeah they look nice and add to it, but i ahve ton say that you can see yellow whne its light out b/c u can see teh yellow bulb through teh clear lenses

at night though with them off when the jeep is jsut sitting it looks GREAT
01-17-2008 01:43 PM
Brownie yeah my jeep is black, so i thought they would look pretty good, i guess ill get some of quadratec as bad as i hate to pay that price.

kg4kpg Prolly ebay is your best bet. I see them there a lot.Mine had them when I bought it but they were the first thing off and sold. Looked to ghetto on my yellow jeep. Maybe on red or black they look okay. To each his own.
