hadadat There's no way I'd ever let anyone drive my Jeep! I can't just trust someone with my precious vehicle!

In that case, you'll just have to watch out for guys wanting to drive it. Tell 'em to get their own Jeep

Another Guy In A Jeep My '98 sahara is my first vehicle. The gas is terribly expensive but the ride makes it worth it

Powertrip Small correction to BeaverJeeper's statement: 1986 models were still CJs. The Wrangler name didn't come about until 1987. And also there were no 1996 model year Jeep Wranglers. YJs produced in early 1996 were sold as 1995 model years, but featured a few new parts not seen on any earlier YJ.

But he is definitely correct about everything else! Although, my girlfriend loves riding in my Jeep. Of course, she drives a TJ as well!!

BeaverJeeper it's been stated already, but calling it a c*r will not make you very many friends in the jeep world.

ecpect to spend every penny you earn on either gas, or upgrades. if you have a girlfriend, don't think she's going to like riding in it with you. most of bumpy rides. don't expect to win a race. 85 MPH is about max speed for most... going down a hill.

yj, tj, cj, jk is just te model name really. up to '85 are CJs, 86 to 96 are YJs, 97 to 06 are TJs 07 to now are Jks.

also, expect to walk backwards when you walk away from your jeep. i've had mine 6 months now and i still stare at it and drool.

Powertrip '97 is the first year of the TJ body style. It really doesn't mean anything, but those of us who drive TJ's like to think it stands for "Tough Jeep".

As far as what to expect, you can expect to have a vehicle that turns heads everywhere you go and that you absolutely love to drive!

Here's your first lesson. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Wrangler

hadadat Forgive my ignorance. I know now. Waving to other jeeps is one of the main reasons I am pumped to own this vehicle.

Granman Lesson one:

A Jeep is not a car, it's a Jeep.

Lesson two:

Wave to other Jeeps.

Getting a '97 Sahara for my first car!

I am BEYOND stoked to obtain this vehicle. Though, I know nothing about cars, or jeeps. I'd like to be a bit knowledgeable of this car before I get it, ya know? Can anyone feed me some basic knowledge about wranglers, what to expect, etc.?
Also, a stupid question, I see a lot of jeeps referred to as TJ and what not, what does that mean, also what is this particular one? YJ, TJ, CJ? I have no idea.
