|scooter18155||i did get poly cab mounts a while back will i be needing those even though i got a lift? i noticed someone earlier mentioned it and i was under the impression the bl replaced those and they were unneeded. thanx again.|

|mesha||I just put on a 1 inch body lift I made myself. I used 1/2 inch bolts 7/16 washers because they fit tighter. I welded the washers together and used grade 5 bolts because the bend. For me 3 inches is too much but not for everyone. Best part is the lift cost 16 dollars so a 3 inch would be like 25 or so..|

|nycom96||Thanks man its custom ;-) I didnt do my bodylift I had a shop do it. But I didnt think that they had to weld the cab corners nor have I noticed. The shifter I know for sure because I modded the center console, no floor trimming. You have my curiousity now though on the cab conrners. I will check tommorow and let you know......|

Your not gonna have to trim the floor just slide your center console back but you will have to add onto your transfer stick as stated. And I didnt have to do my grill corners. Good luck lets see some pics

|Felsengleiskette||yeah wow...3" is going to look alot more extreme than a 1.5 or even 2" plus if you got a manual your gonna be trimmin' alot of your floor to get it in reverse.....adding length to your steering.....adding hieght to your transfer stick...welding your grill corners, just off the top of my head.|

|VVJeepFreaks||I made a 1 3/4 BL with 6061 aluminum 3 in round. I also used grade 5 bolts, While 8's are harder they will shatter where 5 will bend. worse come to worse I would rather them bend and hold than shatter and come off.|

|orange05tj||I know someone that used pressure treated 4X4 posts for a BL. Thats no joke either. We used to call it the "Bob and Son Fence Company" lift.|

|scooter18155||thanx for the info i agree pics are nice. I would like to lift my jeep a bit maybe with 31s or 33s a cpl years down the road but for now i was thinking of doing the body lift considering i am replacing my frame which makes it the ideal time to put a body lift in. i do intend to do maybe a small suspension lift maybe 2 or 2.5 inch one but that wont be for quite some time now. like i said before this isnt about off roading so much as i just think the jeeps lifted with lil bigger wheels are cool stuff. what do you guys think would be better a 2 inch bl and 2.5 suspension lift or just all out 4 inch suspension? I think going much bigger then 4 inches total lift is a little unpractical for my uses considering my jeep is my primary driver and dont feel like bringing step ladder with me to get in and out lol.|

p.e. the performance accessories BLs come with grade 8 bolts and all other parts that are needed. these BLs are crash tested here in europe and the only BLs that are street legal in europe on wranglers.
please look at some 3" BL gap YJ pics before you buy/install it. on YJs you wil notice the gaps more than on a TJ.

if itīs more for the look then itīs ok.
if you use grade 8 bolts it isnīt dangerous like some people say.
it gives you room for bigger tires, but you wonīt get more gound clearance.
the only disadvantage is that you can see some gaps between the body and the frame with a 3" BL. i have a 2" BL ans you donīt really see these gaps.

can you guys give me some pros and cons of using a 3" body lift? i havto replace my frame so im thinking about buying one and having it installed. the jeep is driven on the street 99% of the time so its more for looks then clearance to go offroading.
