I-Want-A-Jeep The TJ OEM is a 1.5DIN much like other mopar products. There are actually 1.5 DIN aftermarket receivers that will fill the entire hole completely. Outside of that it's either have a single DIN with a cubby or plastic filling the space around the single DIN as already stated.

Crutchfield has some 1.5DIN receivers (at least they used to)

Barmanvarn After market mounting kits will either block off the extra space or will create a basic cubby hole for you to use. Your choice.

Single DIN vs Double DIN

I'm thinking of replacing my OEM stereo with aftermarket. The OEM is basically a double DIN and to replace it with a single leaves a lot of unused space. Are there any kits that would convert that space to include a recessed area that could be used? If not, I think I'll just install another double DIN so it looks decent.
