Well my guess is that the metal female contact for the fuse may of got pushed in to the inside of the fuse box. Is there power to the one side of the contact that is still there? Check it with the ignition on and then check it with it off... Sometimes people pop a fuse and then just steal one from another spot and just forget to replace it later. With your dash click not working it wasn't a big deal to them because they just used the clock on the cd player. Do you have a odd small wire coming off your battery or anything? There may be a 12v constant there already.

Car audio is very simple actually. If your not getting a constant 12v to the head unit you can take a test light and go to your fuse box and find a fuse like your dome light or hazard light fuse that has a constant power and just run a jumper wire for a quick fix. On fuses there is a little metal contact on both prongs of the fuse were you would actually push it into place. Well you can take your test light and test the fuse without even pulling it out. However one side may have power and the other side may not with your key out of the ignition. Then you can just turn your key on and then both sides will have power. What your looking for is a fuse with power on both sides of it. Just run a power from your hazard light fuse and tie it in directly with a in-line fuse to your memory wire on your head unit. Temporary fix but it's actually a long term permanent fix also.

tyborbogdan So i have everything wired up correctly, But theres no power going to the constant 12v power cable, I looked at the use box and the radio fuse seems fine, Does the clock fuse control this? Any other thoughts on which fuse it might be? I didnt notice any that were burnt out.

ratuna Check the pink wire without keys in the ignition or lights on and see if it has power, if not check your fuse block and see if anything is burned out. Running directly to the battery would work but you would need an inline fuse. an easier option would be a "add a fuse" google it, pretty self explanitory.

tyborbogdan Hey so i managed to get everything hooked up and working, my issue now is that every time the car is turned off, the stereo resets, i understand that this is caused by the constant power is not right, I bridge the constant and ignition 12 volt wires like suggested by another source, If this problem persists after checking fuses should i just run the "constant 12 volt" directly to the battery? yes/no, Im not an electrician.

ratuna Use a meter to verify but some answers should be:

Constant 12V+ Wire: Pink
Switched 12V+ Wire: Purple/White
Ground Wire: Black
Dimmer Wire: Red/Black

To find the speaker colors, check the speakers themselves and see what colors go to them.

need wiring help

The previous owner of my jeep took out the stock stereo and cut the wires, so im left with loose wires, the issue is that I dont know which wire is what, every thread ive looked at has either listed colors i dont have or didnt list ones i did, My jeep is a 92 YJ. I just need to know which wires are for what. Here is a list of the colors. The color in capital is the main, the lower case is the stripe color.

1. Black
2. Blue/white
3. Orange/black
4. Yellow/black
5. Purple/white
6. Green
7. Brown
8. Black/red
9. Pink
10. White/green
11. Green/white
12. White/red
13 Brown White
