some times it's easy
you filled the (over flow bottle) or the rad itself
if you filled the bottle then the other guy was right if you over fill it it has a hose or open port to let the coolant out when it's over full or check the bottle it may have a leak ,usually in the seam of the plastic
i worked in a rad shop for 7 years if you take it to a shop they can pressurize the system and find the leak or you can do it,o to the auto store and ask for a rad presser test gun the tool works for testing rad caps too usually like 20-40 bucks undo the hose by the top of the rad cap be careful not to break it and plug it off with a hose and bolt use a small hose clap to seal the bolt and hose then pressurize the rad see if it holds presser in the system for 10-20 min if it does you over flow bottle is likely the problem
would love to here what you find

|scrambler1||before replacing parts that you may not need too. See if you can get your hands on a pressure test kit, this has a adapter that goes where the radiator cap goes and either by a hand pump or compressor you pressurize the system and then you can saftely find the leak/or leaks. that much coolant should easy enough to find. It probably is your lower radiator hose.|

|cbmedina33||It's weird, because it leaked a lot really fast, but now it doesn't leak at all. But my coolent is half full. I have no idea what this means. If anyone knows that'd be great.|

|kevshw3||how fast is this leak? this was happening to me a few months ago. i filled the radiator and overflow w/ coolant and within a few weeks the overflow would be empty and the radiator would be lacking coolant. I had my uncle who is a mechanic look at it since i wasn't able to see any visible leaks. He found the the freeze out plug on the back of the engine was the culprit. So after a quick stop at the garage and $150 later it's good as new.|

|cam3sixd||Most likely your water pump. There is a little pilot/breather hole on the pump and when your water pump starts to go, thats where it will start leaking from.|

|Felsengleiskette||mine currently leaks (although very slow) at the bottom seam of the radiator. the underside of it actually. i think from bouncing around ever so slightly and rubbed something to point of failure. check where on the ground the center of your puddle is in relation to the engine bay.(tru it could be migrating from somewhere else) but far forward= radiator/ under engine=pump or thermo hose/ all over the engine bay= hole in hose and the fan is flinging it everywhere/ no water anywhere but on the ground far forward= my problem of UNDERSIDE of radiator.|

It's a Jeep not a car
Make sure to top off the radiator and then drive around till it warms up good, pop the hood and start looking. If you're leaving puddles then it should be leaking good enough to find fairly easily.
It's quite likely just a bad hose or maybe a cracked seam on the radiator.

Of course it is!!!! Do not drive it until you fix the leak or you will overheat muy rapido!!

|wannabe||probably the water pump. check the hoses and radiator while it is running to see if it is pushing out of anywhere. but i'd bet money it is the pump. (have fun if it is)|

when i went out to my car today i noticed a large pool of coolent under my car. i just put a new bottle of coolent in it yesterday because it was bone dry. would anyone know where the leak could be? i can't exactly find it. is this going to be a problem for driving matters. or if i just don't use heat should i be fine? any help would be great.
