well i drove it home from work, but its been parked since, not high speed or anything, next time i move it it willbe into the gargae for some work.
as for the posi I havent looked into it yet, limited slip standard? or something like it?
maybe i'll save the bucks and work and just do some welding till it gets warmer

|Coastiejeep||I broke my driver rear mount off the axle and welded it back in, no problems. Just weld in so gussets on all to strengthen them up|

I hope you're joking about 3 out of 4 ain't bad because you are a very serious accident waiting to happen. Yes, you can stitch weld the bracket without doing any damage, but please for the sake of the other people on the road that your are endangering do it before you drive it any more.
As far as the HP30 goes it should be a straight bolt up and being HP it is a stronger axle. That would be about the only advantage. The only disadvantage from my perspective is that I prefer geared posi's over lockers and as far as I have been able to determine no one makes one for the HP30. If someone can tell me different please do because I've looked into this swap myself.

3 out of 4 aint bad
So as far as I can tell that snapping, or pooping sound i heard the other day was my bent front lower control arm bracket breaking. I have driven 20 or 30 miles like that, but I'm guessing it isn't the best thing to do. So I am thinking of swapping in a HP30 but I'm at stock ride height and all that so I am curious if this could be problematic. The other options I considered are welding the bracket, is that ok with axle all assembled? I wouldn't weld al at once as the onslaught of heat would surly have some effect, but a little at a time wouldn't be bad would it?
Any thoughts, experiences?
If I go ahead with the swap any tips warnings? or things I might not have thought of as having only swapped rear axles up t this point.
