4.0l sahara I know about that and all the after market boxes but was wondering about high flow pumps.

Do some searching on "Durango Steering Boxes"... like from a Dodge Durango.

4.0l sahara Has any body done any upgrades to the steering like the bigger power steering pumps? Do they help?

Triple88a well i gues my "hydraulic steering" idea might help others than just me Any more feedback on it? how to make it work better is welcome.

My rc springs are so hard, i am currently driving with removed rear and discoed front. It leans a bit more but no problems.

GrnTJ Im just gonna do a triangulated 4 link up front. But I like that sway bar, haha.

Triple88a i wanted something like this (not parallel to one another)

maybe even 4 link.. no idea.. i don't have a welder for now so i'm just throwing ideas around



btw note the anti sway bar on my sig image right bellow the front differential laying on the ground.

AzTJ It has to do with the rest of the suspension and the steering... plus the other guy(hydro assist) has leaf springs instead of coils.

If your really thinking of a 3-link front, keep the panhard/track bar. It will make things simpler.

AzTJ Thats a hydraulic assist.

AzTJ That would still be a full hyrdaulic steering as there isn't a connection from the frame. And There is a reason why you haven't seen a set up like that... it will break stuff. That tie-rod will not last.

Triple88a What about something like this for the steering? Sort of like "semi" hydraulic steering that still uses the stock steering box? (cost = 2 hydraulic pistons and few lines)

Black (round with square up) = stock steering box
Red = axle
Brown = full tie rod
Purple = fluid
Blue = fluid
Black by sides = "tires"
Gray = hubs
Black outline with green rod in it = hydraulic pistons

You can, in theory. You just have to make the drag link parallel to the ground. That kills it for most. I almost chose a 3 link with pan hard over my front 4 link just for ease and simplicity. But I hate track bars.

1BLKJP However that Teraflex setup does exist and i've recently seen it on someone's rig here in PHX. I follow the same school of thought with Jeeperman however that you can't get rid of the trac bar on a coil/linked vehicle without taking the steering box off the frame also (meaning going to full hydraulic).

jeeperman The reason you don't see triangulated (not necessarily 3-link) setups in the front, is that the steering would bind and create bumpsteer unless you go with a full hydraulic steering as the draglink will not follow the same arc as the axle with a traditional steering setup. In the rear, you don't have to worry about it as there is no steering (or a full hydro setup).

AzTJ A 3-link front has 2 lower arms and one upper, along with a pan hard bar, or track bar to keep the axle centered.

yes some people dont count the tracbar
they are all four links
the teraflex kit removes the tracbar but it is still a four link

you get some good flex with most long arm kits

or you can weld up the poly performance long arms the front is a tri link

unless you count the tracbar as a link its a true four link front
You can even put the terraflex triangulated front long arms on

Hello,
Any one know where to look for a 3 link front setup? Is it even possible? I've seen 4 link fronts, i've seen 3 link rears but still have not seen 3 link front setup. Thanks.
