|bigskycountry0329||Scott, no I did not have to change the output shaft. the bell housing I used came with my new AX15 (the BA10 bell housing will not bolt to the AX15 and I also recieved a new clutch with my find. iu saved my old clutch that was with the BA10 because it will work fine when I need another.|

|bigskycountry0329||Thanks Matcheen. I swapped out the T-Case with one from the same 1998 TJ that the AX15 came from. On the BA10 the 4x4 linkage mounts to the T-case in 2 places and one spot on the BA10, but with the AX15 application the linkage mounts to one place on the T-case and 2 places on the tranny. It looks like I will have to modify one mount eye on the linkage and I will be good.|

Isn't the 4X4 linkage on the T-case? Are you swapping that too? It should work though.
The shifter config should be the same, the NP 231 doesn't see the small push to the side that you need to do with the YJ shifter Vs. the straigh up pull from the TJ, it's all the same motion to the T-case.
Put the NP 231 from the BA onto the AX15, if it's the NP231 AMG there will be one less bolt than the NP231 JP
but it will fit.
I hope I understood/answered your question.

BA/10 Peaugot to AX15 linkage?
I am in the middle of swapping out my dead BA/10-5 Peaugot transmission to the old faithful AX15. The 4x4 shifter linkage that was on the Peaugot will not work for the AX15. The AX15 is from a 1998 TJ. I do not think the 4x4 linkage will work from a TJ. The TJ linkage has a lever in the cab while my 1990 YJ has what looks more like a shifter. Does anyone have any sugestions?
I am running a 1990 YJ with a 4.0 FI from a 1992 Cherokee.
