nicolas-eric i have this "knock knock" sound only when i accellerate with full throttle on a traffic light. i didn´t see a reason to fix that. i´m to lazy for that because it doesn´t annoy enough...

nregas1 I had the prob on my 98. Been lucky so far on the 04. The BL and Tcase drop required me to fab a bracket but the bushing is the weak point that causes the knocking I believe.

Triple88a i had that problem too. After i installed my body lift i found out that i paid 130 bucks to the stupid lying dealer for 20 minutes of work and 15 bucks of parts.

nregas1 My bad, I misread that and thought it referenced tranny mount but I see that part was actually in your post. I should have known I could count on you to set me straight!

Triple88a Right, the tcase shifter linkage... look at the link DW posted above...

Triple88a Does it wonder left and right? If not its not control arm bushing.

My gues here 2...
Shift to 4hi. Does it still rattle? If no go with DWDrums recomendation above in post 3.

It also might be the tranny mount.

Also loosen the 4 little nuts in the middle of the tranny skid and then tighten them back again. (i think their size was 13mm)

For the sway bar links (i dont think so since its not under your feet) - you can disconnect them and drive around the block to see if the knocking goes away. Just make sure you turn slow as your jeep will lean a lot.

Scooby I had the same thing, it is the front swaybar links. I got the info here about a year ago and these folks were right on the money! Scooby

White93ARB Had a few friends with similar problems. Turned out to be a bushing on the control arm. But thats on a 01 Ram and a 03 Frontier

Just re-read your post, and with going from a stop, it could be the tranny mount.

clunking noise when hitting bumps?

I have a question. I just bought a 2000 wrangler. No surprise but the dealership is useless. I have a noise that sounds like something hitting under my feet when I am starting out in first gear (when I drive aggressive only) and when I hit bumps in the road. I thought it was a motor mount but they turned out in good condition when I checked. this is driving me crazy.
