silvasys Ahhhh - sao it mounts to the tub and not the chassis! That's whyt I'm not finding any holes!!!! I'll have to look again tomorrow. One suggestion was to use Rampage bars over MOPAR based on design. Any insight? I'm considering a Rampage cargo rack as well - and JDsDream looks noce ;-) Thanks Neil.

silvasys This idea is sounding better and better! I might be listing my current MOPAR rails on Carigslist soonest. I was considering a Rampage cargo rack as well, so matching them might be a good look and better idea... Thanks JDsDream

silvasys Thanks Alexia - The weird thing about these bars is that the mounts appear to be parallel to the ground and not parallel and mounted to the frame. It doesn't even look like the frame is wide enough to fit the two bolts. Your picture proves to me it's possible. I had some Rugged Ridge nerf bars on my 99 TJ and they were mounted perpendicular to the ground - so the bars mounted to the side of the chassis/frame and not the bottom. Yours isn't mounted to the tub in any way is it?

JDsDream Any chance that you could return them?
I have the Rampage rails on my 06 Unlimited. They line up perfectly with existing holes, no drilling required. It took about 10 minutes to install them and they have lasted for over 5 years now with no sign of corrosion.

Neil F. I have a regular wheelbase and I assume the LJ is the same. The fronts mount with the existing holes. For the rear, you need to drill the holes. You pull back the plastic wheel liner an you put the nuts inside the tub.

Alexia They mount directly to the tub with nut inserts. The holes need to be drilled and nutserts installed.

Also, do not be surprised if you step on these one day and they break off causing your leg to slip in between them and the body resulting in lots of pain. Their design allows water to pool inside the tubes and rust the welds at the mounts.

The two mounting spots can be seen here.

2004 Wrangler Unlimited - MOPAR Sidebars?

I recently bought a set of MOPAR sidebars for my 2004 Wrangler Unlimited. I can't seem to locate the mounting brackets underneath. I know - sounds crazy but I don't see how these would work. Anyone else have a 2004-2006 Unlimited with MOPAR sidebars? Any issues? Was there a mounting kit with it?
