The Jeeperman Stubby front bumper can be had for $200 on 4x4rockshop. 1/4" thick= beefy front bumper. I like this one just as much as the DPG one...

If u have the capabilities and facilities to do some welding, fab'n u can use the oem bumper and added mild plate steel 3/16" - 1/4" in the areas needed. As for the recovery D-shackels, youll want to keep them closest to the frame and have a reinforcement 1/4' plate welded inside the bumper and tied to the frame as Cliffor stated. The 1/8" bumper can be made to function really well, but not without alott of thought, welding, gussets, trig and some prays....jmho

|GrnTJ||I appoligize on my pics. I have been working a lot lately so I ahve had little time to work on the bumper. The reason Im doing all this to my stock bumper is because I also have a winch plate mounted on top of it. So my stinger is being welded onto that, then it will have supports going to the bumper itself. Yesterday I got the stinger on but I stood back and looked at it and didnt like how long I had made it. Luckly I tacked it first. So Im going to pull it off grind the welds down and cut her a bit shorter. Then I almost finished my steering skid that will bolt to the whole stock bumper thing as well. Should have some pics for you guys in 2-3 days.|

|Walkeraviator||I would love to keep my stock bumper if there is a way to weld the tabs to mount d-shackles to the front of it.|

|debruins||yo grntj, im still waiting on those pics of the stock bumper made to look wicked cool, i think im gonna use the stock bumper, cut it at an angle add light tabs, d ring shackles, and a light hoop, as well as a hoop around the grill that ties into the frame and then into the tube fenders, i think it will look pretty awesome without having to fab up all the brackets and then the bumper itself|

|tlucier||I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Rokmen Mercenary front bumper for my '01 TJ. (http://www.rokmen.com/products/tj_lj...nt_bumper.html) Only issue is it's shipped bare steel so I'll have to prep and paint it.|

I loved the ARB bumper untill I actually saw it on the street, It was too big and too much for me + the shipping would have had to get it crated cause of the weight.... I ended up getting the body armor one ...its not too much and the shipping wasent redic. imo
Edit:my tires look weird dont they?

|GrnTJ||Thats cool. Find someone you know does good work and you can have pretty much anything you want built. Its great to know how to do that stuff. It sure has saved me a heck of a lot of money. Its nice to be meet in person too to see your creation get built. By the way, where in Michigan are you at ook?|
|07-26-2007 05:27 PM|
i have to be a michigan slappy here...
but i buy my bumpers from this guy about 2hrs north of detroit... he makes quality quality stuff and his welds are PERFECT.... he's been fabin jeep bumpers for about 8 years or so.... very very good prices also!!!

|GrnTJ||You can always drill the holes in the center of your stock bumper. A stock bumper can actually be made to look pretty cool. I will post pics after this weekend of mine when its done but it will look much like the DPG bumper pictured. Only the stinger will be a little longer and it will also have a steering box skid bolted to it.|

I saw somewhere, some one chopped off the ends of his ARM after smashing it on one side and turned it into a stubby looked kinda cool.

|Walkeraviator||I like the Warn, Rokmen and kilby. I like that almost stock but not quite look. And I love the look of D-rings hangin off the front of the bumper. ARBs are freakin sweet but look like they would weigh a ton.|
|07-26-2007 04:43 PM|
Kilby w/ Jeeperman light hoop.
I like that Rokmen too.
|07-26-2007 04:35 PM|
If I hadn't gotten my Fabtech styled one for so cheap, I would have gotten a Rokmen Mercenary bumper.
But I'm gonna end up adding to my current bumper, adding a hoop and supports, custom
|07-26-2007 04:08 PM|
I like the RRC fronts..
|07-26-2007 03:58 PM|
edit: i also forgot to ask who makes that rear bumper?

Its up in Decatur (Dick-Hater).
If you want to get in touch with them and buy it, I don't mind bringing it down as far as Newnan for you. It's about 30 minutes past my office, so I'd probably go up after work one day in the Taco.
Let me know what you end up doing.

I have no idea if this will work...but I'll try
This was before the lift and other goodies...

|rebelBullDawg325||i'm interested in that ARB.....but not sure what it looks like, cna some1 find a pick of one adn send it to me, or post it up for me|
|08-22-2006 08:00 AM|
I can attest to the ARB. I T-Boned a Chevy truck with mine and it didn't leave a scratch on it. He, on the other hand, had to crawl out of his truck through the passenger door. (He was driving the wrong way on a one way street...I never saw him).
