I've heard non-rubi TJs need slip yoke eliminators, though I truthfully have no idea what that really is. Don't know what a "slip yoke" is or why it must be "eliminated."
Is the motor mount lift related to the body lift? Sounds like it, but again, I'm painfully ignorant pre-JK.
I do know my brother's got my dad's old TJ and I have PLANS for that jeep. Our dad's gone now and we've got to do something he'd think was cool.

motor mount lift is simple and easy to do also. I don't think new drive shafts are needed on the Tj unless you go super extreme. I think with a Tj you need a SYE if anything??

|wanderlust||my jeep is set up as a LCG style. actual lift is just under 3 inches with the added weight of armor, bumpers, and winch. But the actual travel of my suspension is equal to 6 plus inches of lift. my wheelbase is stretched almost 2 inches. The stock driveshaft design can not handle that range of motion with out all the rubber tearing apart.. The front exhaust pipe crossover is a problem over anything more than a BB. If I didnt run my suspension thru its full range of motion I could of left everything alone, driveshafts and crossover pipe. Anything more than mallcrawling would be off limits.|

The axles also become a little short eventually relative to the height. And I think it's worse in the 2012s because of exhaust piping or something that interferes with the wide factory shafts.

How much lift do TJs require to clear 35s with room to flex like as pictured? Would they not not need new driveshafts by that point? (Serious question - not being snarky.)

life with a 2012 JKUR
I have a touch over 5k on it now, driven it across country, lifted it, run 35 inch tires since new. Currently have aftermarket front and rear bumpers, narrow fender flares, and wheel the crap out of it. Driveshafts (both) need to be replaced, exhaust relocation for the crossover pipe is mandatory! IT really seems to be holding up well for what I do to it. still has great road manners.
