Yeah.. Red dots are great, I've got one installed on 1 of my kel-tecs works very well, but honestly for the most part i prefer my iron sights.. That scope you see installed on my AR is a Burris prism scope.. cross hair goes from black,Red or green. It's a 3 x 32 zoom and replicates the way the famous ACOG Scopes work, but about 600$ less. I payed about 300 for mine and i freaking love it..
If anyone is in the market for a prism scope I definitely suggest the Burris

Glock 22s and 27s go well together. I've got a 22 on hip now, and a 27 stuffed under my thigh, LOL.
My accuracy is equivalent with either. The 27 takes a tad longer for follow-up shots and long range stuff.
I've got some zombie squirrel tools in the safe too:
FWIW, red-dot sights aren't critical or anything. If I had the extra money to outfit my rifles with duty level optics, then I might consider it... but I'm doing well to maintain my stash of mags and practice ammo. There is also something to be said for the simplicity of iron sights, their ruggedness, and precision. I spent a couple decades shooting before red-dots became popular, so I'm comfortable with iron sights.
I outfitted my personal AR with a combo fiber optic/trijicon front sight post, which works well as night.

Good looking gun.
Currently I've got a handful of guns at the house and I'm considering a few new ones. I have finally convinced my wife I need an AR. So I'm starting to shop around a bit for a carbine model. I found one at the gun show the other day that was either a Colt or Bushmaster for about $500. I didn't have the cash and it wasn't on my shopping list so I passed. I don't need all the fancy optics (I can't shoot just fine through iron sights), although I'll probably add some sort of scope and mount for a flashlight. Mine will be used primarily for hog hunting.
I'm also in the market for a new CCW. I've got a Glock 27 that I'm probably going to try trading for a Glock 22 and then pick up a Ruger LCP or Keltec .380 for my carry weapon.

Sexy AR there.
I have some.
There's my Stag LH AR, and Imbel GL FAL.
I've got a M16A1 in my trunk right now. It's old and pretty worn, but I didn't turn my nose up at a free machine gun: 2011 Holiday E-Card - YouTube
I'm getting into .44 Mags now. A buddy gave me his old single stage reloader and a bunch of .44 components and dies.
