Smeghead I run VBulletin, you can assign ranks with icons and do reputation its kinda neat.

tiny terror I like the rep system the way it's used on my other board which is just to pass notes under the table. The reps aren't out there for everyone to see.

4point Why not have Jack put a gold star next to the names of people who are qualified to answer tech Q's. There's not very many so it would be easy.

We don't need a reputation system to know who the people are who just spew caca out of their mouth. We may be growing leaps and bounds but we are still a tight knit forum.

I like the reputation system just as something fun and to give incentive for people to write good posts and that's about it.

Believe him it does get out of hand some times.

This is what I have at the moment on a board I moderate.

If you could only see some stupid -reps I have go up to that point it would make you puke.

We had to put in a abuse system to curb people from abusing it. One member actually was banned for giving +rep with a comment of "meet me in such and such game" it was a BS ban but it was done to set an example.

Because to be perfectly honest with you I don't like the reputation system and don't think it's necessary. However if you all want it I can put it in place. But having the ability to post negative feedback is something that can never be controlled on a national board like ours. People hold a grudge and then things just boil out of control.

tiny terror Lev's right, rep points should be built in. I'm a member of a writing board that the rep points are used, but not visible publicly, to make the small comments on posts that really don't add to the thread but need to be said, even privately.

Levinoss VB should have a reputation system built into it.

WF Suggestion

Hello awesome mods and big wigs of WF.

I have one suggestion. So many people on this site are sooooooooooooo very helpful that I think we should give them some kind of thanks besides the thanks in a thread.

I am part of an R/C plane forum and there is a "thank" icon in each window. So whoever gives helpful advice, you click the 'thank' icon in their post so give them thanks. You are allowed to only thank them once for each post.

And everytime you thank them, the "thanks" get counted. Under their name, it says, "Thanked 6 times in 6 posts."

If you check out www.wattflyer.com, you will see what I am talking about.

Jeep on mods and have a great week!!!
