darkproximity the first gauge location on your panel in the center has an indicator light, however when you ditch the vacuum motor you lose the light.. im not sure EXACTLY how it works, but.. the transfer case lets the vacuum motor know to engage, which uses vacuum to actuate the CAD locking the 2 piece axle shaft together, when its successful the indicator light comes on indicating 4wd.. however you arent using the vacuum motor anymore so it wont light up on the dash.. i may be wrong but i'm pretty sure thats how it works..

darkproximity its called a posi-lok cable, you can google information on how it works.. its not a locker in the sense of locking the differential.. it merely replaces the vacuum motor on the center axle disconnect, so you can manually connect the 2 piece axle shaft together. It is required to go from 2hi to 4hi, and inversely from 4hi to 2hi.. it can also technically allow you to go into 2low if you dont actuate the CAD..

mschillingii the thing either spins out slowly without pressing button or press button and pulls all the way out, but what i mean is how to correctly engage and disengage the 4x4 with this conversion. thanks

Rolf I would imagine you need to depress the button and then turn the knurled knob whle holding the button in.

Help me with this thingy!

ok so i just got this jeep and the guy couldnt fully explain how to engage and dis engage the the conversion thingy for the locker for the front end. the thing twist or pulls out, can someone please explain how to do this correctly? thanks guys
