Walkeraviator I vote for Champion as well. I have found the only cars that run good on Platinum or Iridium plugs are boosted vehicles. I used plats in my boosted civic and the cooler spark definitely helped a lot.

richp I just picked up 24 Champion coppers for my fleet this morning, $1.77 ea from advanced Auto parts, $.30 cents per plug cheaper than the dealer. Originally just picked up 6 then went back for the rest when I noticed the price, was not paying attention at the register to specifics.

Scoob Jeeps that have the coil rail should stay away from the fancy sparks with lots of probes. It will only cause them problems.

nregas1 Champions! Later model came stock with NGK's. The info sticker on the underside of hood will state which plug. I tried the Bosch plats and the Champion plats and both made my junk run like crap. Switched back to the recommended NGK's and all was right again. The others seem to make it run too rich.

Not a big deal but just for reference if its a 91 its the 2.5L amc 4 banger. The newer 2.4's didn't come out til 03 or 04...

As for spark plugs, like 1blkjp said, good old champions will work just as well as the expensive plantinums in our jeeps.

1BLKJP I'd say good ol Champions will work just fine for you.

distortedtj what year is your jeep and what motor do you have?

Spark Plugs?

Since there's already the air filter thread running and plugs were brought up...

Years ago I had an old p/u that I put bosch platinums in and noticed a huge difference in performance. Now I hear they're not so good...

The Jeep is getting new plugs, what do you recommend?
