My JCR Vanguard bumper arrived today! I know....it didn't happen until I post pictures but IT IS HERE OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR! This one weighs a ton - it will take both of us to drag it into the house and unpackage it. I needed something to protect my jeep from deer and this bumper will do exactly what I need it to do!

I am so very happy!!!!

mwmoon I ended up going with the Poison Spyder, but as I've said before, it was literally a toss-up between them and the JCR. (When it comes time to visit the MEGA Rear Bumper thread, I may get the JCR tire carrier.)

mwmoon Yeah, man. I know why the prices are outdated. Doesn't change the fact that they are outdated. Thanks.

I've narrowed my choices to either the Poison Spyder JK Brawler Lite Front Bumper with Brawler Bar or the JCR Dagger Stubby Front Pre-Runner Winch Bumper.

Both are fantastic looking bumpers. I just can't decide which I want to pull the trigger on.

It was started over two years ago.

Like the M/T bumper. Nice size, recessed winch and that bar looks good.

mwmoon Hey, vendors:

Woo me with a sweet deal on a bumper and an Engo 10k winch with synthetic line.

I'm thinking something that looks similar to the JCR Dagger Mid Width Front Pre-Runner Winch Bumper, but I'm flexible.

My inbox is open!

(Also posting in this thread to see if you guys know of any great deals on bumpers/winches that are currently going on or if you have any success stories from working with certain vendors. Some of the prices I found in this thread are a bit outdated.)

unboundmo What bumper companies have the gas/water tank tray attachment?---to fit around the spare tire.. I have a Bestop bumper with tire carrier but seems they don't make this add on accessory.

Any ideas..? I was going to fab something up but I was looking for a starter somewhat or trays w/straps that I can weld and fab to..

What have others done?

----- I just realized this is a front bumper thread.. Is there a rear bumper thread?

Wondered about functionality also.

Noob question: Do the different widths (stubby or full) have any major functionality difference? Or mainly for looks?

Just wondering because I want to add a front bumper. I have 33's now, but will upgrade to 35's in the future. I want to make sure the bumper won't get in the way, etc.
I'm interested in getting a stubby for my daily driver. After noting how important aero is in Nascar, I wondered if mpg would decrease going this way.
Just curious.

kbruce130 I've had the Smittybilt Atlas installed for a few months now. Thus far no issues. The fitment and finish were both very good. Installation was relatively easy. It's a decent bumper for the price.

Jancie I am doing the happy dance!

Just released the funds today for a JCR Vanguard full width front bumper and a Warn VR10000 winch. Ordered my stuff through Jason at Krawl Off Road and he gave me a great deal.

I can see why so many people are going to the stubby bumpers for rock crawling, etc. but I am more of the easy/medium type trails person and my jeep is my dd so I have to be a little bit careful with it. Also I have to drive through "deer country" and I needed a good strong bumper that the deer can bounce off of so a full width was the perfect bumper for me. I haven't been on the trails yet but this is one step closer to being prepared to go out there and explore!

Now the hard part - waiting for it to arrive and then getting my husband to take the time to install it! I may have to wait a couple of weeks to rattlecan paint it due to the temperatures still not consistently in the 50's let alone would love to have some 60 degree weather here.

pbujkurdu I am looking for more pictures or information on a front bumper.

Rock Slide Engineering (RS-E) has a Crawler front bumper in both a full and shorty, which I cannot find references to anywhere else and only see in their promo material. Does anyone have it or know more about it? Or any pictures other than promo/sales shots?

The shorty is pictured on the website:
https://www.rockslideengineering.com...-front-bumper/
but not the full.

I have only seen the full width on 1 older build and the short on the RS-E website with what looks like an updated design.
All of the sellers share the same generic pictures as the other order sites (many that look out of date, based on the RS-E site).

I can't find a side shots of the crawler bumper nor measurements of either bumper.
The Powerplant in the picture is 24.31" L. x 6.7" D. x 13.46" H according to Warn so in this picture it looks like it is about 11-12 inches from the grill to the front of the bumper (close to same as OEM bumper) but could be way off.
The stubby also looks about door-to-door wide on the jeep, slightly wider than grille width.

I have attached what photos I have found of each bumper.
1) older shorty design with no fog lights or winch guard from a reseller site
2) collage of full width on the ProComp jeepkonection.com.au JK-8 build from Facebook pictures.
3) collage of newer shorty design with fog lights and winch guard from RS-E website
4) fullwidth with fog lights from a reseller site

solid construction. good looking weld points. Great bumper

ee4516 So i've narrowed my choices to either the AEV or RR XHD bumpers, i love the RR with the stinger but heard that they are cheaply made from a few people....any words or wisdom from someone who's had experience with them ?
