I can only hope that the gecko turns out to be as deep as the two-door.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Pricing & Research Information
Geesh, its only several more months until June. Usually about the time the new Wranglers are introduced for mid to late summer availability. Pat, any word on the times for ordering 2013 Wranglers which should bring some different colors?
Pat can you take an order from someone out of your state, say California, and have it delivered to Peoria, Illinois?

Too bad it won't be at the Chicago show. Would have liked to have seen on in the wild. Thanks for the updates.

Thank you, Alexia, for your efforts to depict the correct color. You have rekindled my hopes that were dampened after seeing the UK's version.

Also, the Arctic Edition is no longer available to order. But good news for you Winter Chill people, heard the Winter Chill should be available to order in early March. Saw Winter Chill at the L.A Auto Show and there is just enough blue coming through to not to appear more silver than blue, if that makes sense.
If only this possible Volcano Edition would come in Stinger Yellow. Pat, have you heard of this edition?

Buy now and feel regrets later (mucho later...)! Who cares how my car will look in 15 years!
I truly loved the look of rendered Gecko. I hope it will be the same live. I don't mind UK website rendition with Resque Greenish theme.
|01-25-2012 03:16 PM|
That render looks really good actually. If it looks like that, I might take it. That is, if Detonator Yellow does not miraculously shows up again!
However, I saw today a green (kinda Gecko'ish) Suzuki Vitara from the 90's. Since the paint was no metallic it had faded quite a lot and the whole car just looked oooooold! Very, very, very old. And misplaced as well. Some colours and cars get old in style (A Ford Mustang from the 60's for example) and other cars just get really dull like minivans from the 80's. This gecko'ish Suzuki was definitely like the latter.
What I'm trying to say is: how would this gecko Jeep look like in, say, 15 years? I see flame red TJ's and they still look awesome. Will a gecko be the same?
Hmm, not sure if I'm explaining myself good here. It's a feeling hard to describe. I'll see if I see it driving one of these days and I'll try to make a picture.

|dncswithdogs||Digging your mock up Alexia ! Thank you for posting that. Our current jeep is a satin jade pearl 97 TJ. Perfect color for summer beach cruising. Could not find any in electric lime green when I was originally shopping. Sure am thinking that gecko is going to pan out just fine. I think I am going to follow up with Mr. Pat because if there is a Gecko at the auto show............roadtrip|

|GeckoJK||I hope it looks more like your rendering than the Jeep UK site. Their color does seem off to me. I think it will be bright.|
|01-24-2012 09:11 PM|
I used the available color chip and did a color mock up based on Jeep's stock Build My Own photograph. I used a neutral color area of the paint around the windshield to do the matching. I put my Electric Lime Green LJ below to show the color difference. After that is Jeep UK's official mock up of Gecko Pearl which looks fairly hideous.(The rest of the mock ups on their site look off color as well.)
Considering Jeep's current trend of bright colors I am confident my mock up is very close.

|dncswithdogs||Am I correct in thinking that we should see one in person around mid to late april ??|
|01-23-2012 11:11 AM|
|firstname.lastname@example.org||Feb allocation for MARCH BUILD shows 02/07. I'm guessing Gecko will be open to order the same day. It will be longer than 6 weeks on an order.|
|01-23-2012 12:23 AM|
Last week Jeep customer service said their current information is that Gecko will be available for order mid-February. Mid-February orders mean the Gecko Jeeps should arrive about 6-8 weeks later so we can't see one until late March at best.

|dimasin||Well, another week passed in a wait for this truck. My dealer decided to back out of the deal since it takes too long to wait and he thinks price is gonna rise by the time they will place the order. I am really amused by all this, in the future I will probably grey-import stick shift Patrol or Padjero. Should be much easier than to buy Jeep of my choice! Now it's more like Gecko or no Gecko!|
