heiser if you have or know someone that has a welder this should be an easy fix. get a larger nut so you can weld on the inside of it. set it flat on top of the stripped bolt head centered as best as you can holding it with a pair of pliers or vice grips so you wont burn your fingers. weld on the inside starting on the stripped head to get a good burn in and work your way out to the new nut getting it filled in. let it cool down and the turn it out usingb the appropriate sized wrench or socket. i have done this more than 20 times on various drill rigs and pieces of equipment and it has never failed. also if you get it welded good enough you can reuse the fancey new bolt without any worry.

banks316 I did the same thing to the top bolt it requires a 12 pt socket. I use my plasma cutter and cut the head off. Drop the trans used vice grips to remove the rest of the bolt.

Stripped Bolt Head for transmission

Well had a guy come to my home to replace my clutch, in the process of him taking everything apart he stripped one of the bolt heads REALLY BAD! Needless to say the scum bag bailed back to VA! So what I was gonna pay him which was $200 may now turn into $800 plus! Any ways to remove this bolt any ideas? I would love to keep my money as with anyone of course. In the mean time my Rubicon is sitting in the yard!
