mrbigjeep are you talking bfg all terrains...i think Kat runs those and likes them...just wondering, if your gonna go that tall, why not go wider unless its better for the terrain you wheel on?
09-15-2006 12:24 AM
JeepGuyLJ what about 33x 9.5 tires that will good and tall also.
09-09-2006 12:32 AM
upinar it would look good but not as good as 33's
08-17-2006 11:28 PM
Wr@ngler00 I agree with the spacers, dont do a body lift they suck. Plus they look silly. Go with the spacer and shocks and 31's it'll look sweet.

Skeezer I would put 33's on a 3.5" lift. I have an 06 TJ with a 2" lift and 31" tires, looks great.

31's will look a litte small on that size lift. Good luck
08-08-2006 05:11 PM
mrbigjeep i think that will be a very good and smart choice...be sure to post some pics
08-08-2006 04:20 PM
JeepGuyLJ yeah i dont do any hardcore off-roading, i just some more room to clear the kind of rocks and hills that i go to so thank you guys for helping. and i think i will go with the 2 inch spacers.

I better get some WF decals to pass out.
I just realized that I was going to say "This girl has a sweet TJ". I had no idea I left it the way it is. Pretty funny. I guess I left it for yall to fill in the blank or something.

This girl has a sweet TJ.

You are such a flirt.......Amerijeep.............

mrbigjeep x2...the spacers are a good for the 31's but if you want more clearance there is other ways..but even with the 2 inch spacer lift you should have ample clearance for the type of offroading you do (im guessing its not to hardcore considering your just going with 31's)

And you call yourself an Administrator.

Getting back on topic, I would say that there's a reason you wanted 3.5" of lift in the first place. But for what you want to do I think there's a better way to accomplish it. If you want to stick with your 31's then the spacers are a good idea and if you are still wanting the clearance that 33's could give you then stick a flatter belly pan on there. It will do wonders for you on the trail.

Man, be careful. My buddy down the street has these humps in his front fenders, one on each side, from (he says) 32s. He's been known to stretch the truth a bit, so I don't know but in the next sentence after he told me that he was talking about when he tried 33s on it.

I don't like the guy much, but he's the only other Jeeper I know of around here.

amerijeep Even easier is running 31s with no lift. You don't need any lift to run 31s.
08-06-2006 11:12 PM
mrbigjeep they should run your no more than $250 or $300 at the very most...even for a very good name brand spacer kit...and it should come with the new shocks so you wont have to worry about buying them seperate...i think that is a good decision because it will clear your 31's fine with plenty of room to flex and it will look good too without breaking the budget or spending a ton...it's also an easy install
08-06-2006 10:37 PM
Skeezer I have a 2" lift on my TJ with 31" tires. If I were you i'd go bigger on the tires, maybe 33's.
08-06-2006 10:27 PM
hardy1531 I just put a 2'' RE BB on my 03 TJ. It was really easy to do. I think it was $250. It included everything, spacers, bump stop extensions, and new shocks. Why are you lifting it? What are you gona be doing with it? Daily Driver? weekend warrior? I think we could help a little better if we knew what you would be doing with it.....
08-06-2006 05:50 PM
JeepGuyLJ yeah i think you guys right i should go with a 2 inch spacer, how much are they and do i need new shocks. thank alot guys.
08-06-2006 01:50 PM
mrbigjeep if your just going to go with 31's i would do like this guy and go with just a 2 inch spacer lift...theres no need to go with 3.5 inches of lift when you don't need it...its just wasting money unless you need a ton of flex...i would just go with a cheaper 2 inch spacer lift or even a 2 inch coil lift and it will give you the clearance you need and be suitable for your tires...if your gonna stay at 31's for sure i wouldn't go over a 2 inch lift just for 31's
08-06-2006 12:19 PM
ccarr51 Ive had 31s on with a 2 in lift and its perfect for me. Looks good and its all the bigger tire I need for the kind of wheeling I do. Doesnt look weird to me at all.
08-06-2006 12:39 AM
jeepersandcreepers 31" tires will not look all that bad and we have seen quite a few TJ like that. Some uys out here will run 31" in the winter for better MPGs and switch to 33" for the summer when wheeling. For most (not all) tires the height of a 31 versus a 33 is barely 1.5" in height.
08-05-2006 09:35 PM
amerijeep I think it would look ok. Only you have to like it, but I know what you mean about not wanting to go to big on the tires. I say go for it.
08-05-2006 06:16 PM
mrbigjeep yeah i think it will look a little odd personally...i would go with
33's...i mean it already has 30's so that is just 1 inch bigger so you'd be going up 1 inch in tire size and 3.5 inches in clearance...you can fit 31's stock...you definitely don't need a 3.5" lift for 31's... and if you want clearance for plenty of flexin you can just run a 2 inch spacer lift...but a 31 is only 1 inch bigger so personally i don't think it's worth it just to go an inch bigger...i'd go with some 33's so it's 3 inches bigger...i went four inches bigger on my jeep...that is just my opinions though

JeepGuyLJ
31"tires with 3.5" lift.

Do you guys a 3.5" lift would look odd with 31" tires. cause i dont want to go that big on tires. its going to be on a 05 jeep unlimited.

thank you.
