|Klug||Ok it didnt happen today but over the last two weekends my brother in law and I have installed A Zone lift kit, four new shocks, new (to me) tires and wheels 33x12.5, a TC drop, new steering dampener, a receiver hitch, rock sliders, and replaced all of my rear brake lines. We have had two real marathon sessions but it has all been worth it.|

|BunnyGN||Spent a family day in the garage, getting the Jeep ready for its maiden voyage next weekend! Best fix of the day: shift indicator pulled from a junkyard and installed, now I can see what gear I'm in! Best new addition: stereo, now the Jeep has some tunes!|

|OverkillYJ||About 90% sanded for new monstaliner. Od green and pyroclastic. Monstaliner is so thick to sand. I am only taking it to 60 grit.|

|Beer Belly||In the process of tearing out the bed liner stuff the PO sprayed on the inside. What a hack job! This stuff is crap. It peels right off, and I am sure it held in a ton of moisture on the drivers floor….hence the lack of a drivers floor where the drivers floor should be located!|

The front threaded part is snapped off and the rear part is bent pretty badly.

Lol apparently you missed my post earlier where I said " blasphemy, I know, but it's my jeep and screw you." Jokingly of course.
For me it was about customizing MY Jeep. I knew someone would give flack for it, and that is expected. What is also expected is for a square hood to not meet up with a round grille. But does it really bother me that much? Not at all.
It is exactly what I want for now.
Plus later when I upgrade to LED headlights I'll have a round spot to put them and it will look good.

Two fun upgrades that have nothing to do with performance
Put my home made Mirrors on today. $16 instead of $80. Happy days.
Also used the door rack that I designed in the garage using some electrical conduit and Eye bolts.
Love this Jeep stuff.

|Beer Belly||Correct me if I am confused…which I most likely am! Did you really take the time to put a TJ grill on a YJ? If you want a TJ, buy one. If you like leaf springs, buy one! They are only headlights, As long as they work….life is good. And, from what I see, the hood doesn't line up with the grille. Don't get me wrong, you did a really nice job, but I don't see the rewards for the work involved. But then again, I own a POS, and I am only concerned with… "turn key=start, press brake=stop" Nice job. Have a beer.|

|Beer Belly||Drained the sludge in the axles, xfer case & transmission that were all posing as oils! What a PITA to refill the transmission! I used 10w30 in the tranny.|

Ok a little history first...
I bought my YJ in Feb. Driving it home I was thinking "Good Lord what a rough ride." Did a bit of research and everyone says they ride rough. Ok I can dig it. Removed my track bars and it got a little better but not much. Well, I guess it's the joys of a YJ. I mean seriously EVERY TEENY WEENY bump the wife and I was bouncing like a low-rider (I've had one back in the day lol). Wasn't sure if I could enjoy this for a long time and might have to upgrade to a TJ.....
So today I'm trying to ID my Flowmaster, getting info and such when I notice my Hanger broke (the rubber piece). As I'm trying to re-position it, I hit my shock and it moves. I was like "wth?". So turns out my Passenger side Nut fell of for the upper shock mount and the bushing fell out. So I'm trying to emergency fix cause the wife and I are both out of work and we living on savings (we both got jobs today though hers starts tomorrow mine monday). So GREAT. Messed up Jeep. Anyways I go try to find a nut off my F250 that's mainly parked (460) and I notcie the shocks are about the same size. Sweet I might be able to pull a bushing off one and use it. Upon further research looks like it might even fit!. So long story short, when I got the driver side off IT WOULDN'T BUDGE. Would not collapse at all. I'm 240 lbs and my full weight would not budge it at all. So I did manage to replace the shocks with the ones off my F250 (they still good). They extend about another 6" over the Jeeps but I still got about 4" of collapse spacing too.
HOLY HELL WHAT A DIFFERENCE! OMG a totally different ride. Hardly feel any bumps and the "jarring" RR tracks near my house feel like a Cadillac going over them.
So a word to the wise. If you buy a YJ and never had one AND it feels like a low-rider...your shocks may not be working correctly LOL

|rmwsaw0228||Drove a couple of hours up north "ugh" to Ohio to pick up a new transfer case. It came with a tranny as well that includes the bellhousing to mount my slave cylinder externally. Not bad for $150. Now spend all weekend putting it back together.|
