thecheezman Do a search on the forums or even google about rust removal. There should be plenty of info on it all.

Big Cole My new to me 99 TJ is also from the northeast. I've done quite a bit of research and plan to address the surface rust this spring. You are going to need to clean all of the salt/dirt/rust particles from the inside of your frame. Once clean Eastwood makes a product that you can apply to the inside of the frame to protect it from further corrosion.

I would suggest looking into POR 15, Rust Bullet, or Chassis Saver. These products are used to coat your frame and undercarriage.

New Jeep - worried about rust underneath

Hi all -- I just bought my first Jeep (yay!).. it's a 2000 Wrangler that was owned in the NY/NJ area for its first 8 yrs of life (now in NC). Looking underneath the car, it has a coat of red/rustiness all over everything. I don't see any blatant holes or places where things are rusted through, but I want to make sure I do what I can for it so it doesn't get to that point. So -- new Jeep owner here humbly asking for advice. Any thoughts on how to approach treating this?

Many thanks!
