Where are you located? I have the stock ones off of my '98 that you can have if you're anywhere near/in SoCal.

Here are some options that I have given my ladyfriends...
They both travel easy (go anywhere), are very inexpensive, you don't need a socket and ratchet to remove them before wheeling, and the second option can double as a weapon!
I'm just kidding with you. I have some OEM steps that I don't use anymore. I plan on getting some sliders. Check if you have to drill your frame. There are 8 bolting points for them. PM me for pics if you are interested or for more info.

|ms04sahara||i wanted to take the oem side steps off of my sahara, but my wife is on 5'2" also. she bitc*** about it so i left them on there. thats where all the mud ends up when you go wheelin', piles up on those steps.|

|AzTJ||Spanky - might be a good idea to search your local craigslist for OEM side steps. They can be had to next to nothing and only use like 6-7 bolts per side.|

I have side steps on mine (Nerf bars) they do come in very handy when people have to get in and out of the jeep.

if i have to pull off the side steps "X" times a year for wheeling VS. "Y" amount of times my girl and i am getting into the jeep... i can live with that!
if i go wheeling and i start pounding on the side steps, i mean honestly it wont take me more than ten minutes to pull both of them off. i can do that even before i leave town.
not saying i dont go wheeling very often.. but im planning to use this thing as a daily driver for the summer.

|SurfnSnow||It might be a pain to take them on and off each time you go wheelin'. And you may want some more protection so your tub stays dent free|

im looking to buy some side steps for my wrangler. i found some online the other day, and now forgot what site i found it on!
ive searched and searched and cant seem to find them again.
i need some side steps that are the "U" shape ones. pavement to frame is 26" my girlfriend is only 5'2". she needs some help getting in. i do too, sometimes its annoying.
i need the cheapest side steps i can find. i thought the ones i saw were about $50 or less. dont know if that was for a pair.
i also want to be able to have some that easily can be removed when i go wheeling.
mind you all... as cheap as possible.... BESIDES making my own. thats the last option if need be
