nwbronco It attaches under the hood. So it attaches to the steel portion. The tab would be sticking out at the hood line.

JKJenn I am getting ready to do the same set-up with a RR spare tire mount for my JK.

Did you do your install yet? Any advice? Photos of the antenna mount would be awesome.

MD4P Ok guys thanks for the info . I found another mount that a lot of people love that I will be purchasing.

TheTJRod I personally wouldn't use that mount either. You could do what namasste said, or you could even drill your rear bumper. Though if you put it on your bumper I would suggest a 4' or even 5' antenna. When I did mine I used a mount from Arizona rocky road, that mounts using the top bolts the tire carrier use. Though it is incompatible with some aftermarket tire carriers. I ended up giving mine away to a club buddy and just welded a tab with a hole in it to the carrier.

namasste I am planning on this exact setup with the exception of the mount. I personally think that the easiest way to mount this is to simply drill a hole in your spare tire carrier (on top obviously) and mount directly to it. I'd much rather drill my spare mount than my fender.

Remus_Redbone Looks like you have all you need, but I have no idea where that antenna mount attaches to a "fender".
