It does "shuffle" but every time you "shuffle" again it is the same songs in the same order
|02-26-2014 05:01 PM|
I think it only shows turn by turn if you have it "on" in the personal settings...
BTW, why on God's green earth can you not "save" settings like "shuffle"...I have to hit it EVERY time. Whomever designed this thing got a TON of little stuff incorrect.

Has anyone ever found an in-depth manual for the 730N? I have lots of questions. For example...
Sometimes my phone's signal strength is in blue, and other times in red. What does the color change mean?
Sometimes while my phone is connected, there is a Bluetooth logo shown, and other times, no (though my phone is still connected). What does the Bluetooth logo mean, if not to confirm phone connection?
My kid wants to know what the icon at the top right means? It looks like the front end of three vehicles, the larger one in front and the smallest one in the back.
PS: If I had to do it over again, I would get the 430N. IMHO, Garmin GPS, with all its customizations, is far better. With turn-by-turn displayed in the EVIC, the split screen (map & turns) of the 730N isn't very valuable.

Got Link? I only have updated once, the biggest problem for me is getting it to transfer mp3 from (1TB portable drive) it seem sit has to read the whole drive every time I startup.

|tomthbomb||I would do this but there is no way gracenotes will know the early 1970's re-releases of the Texas Outlaw music from the early 1970's that I am addicted to.|

I think there is a setting to turn off confirmation under phone settings

|JK-linux||I'm not RHR/730N fanboy by any stretch of the imagination. That said, it does get me around town just fine and plays mp3's off the hard drive. I don't use some of the other features like streaming and bluetooth and voice commands though. Were I to do it again, I'd do the same thing - buy a refurbished 730N and the MOPAR connection kit to install it; and sell my factory 430N and make $100 when all is said and done. Then again I wouldn't pay $1k+ for ANY in-dash navigation system, regardless of how good it was, unless I made my living with it.|

Thanks, I am going to try and update today!
BTW, is it possible to turn off the stupid confirmation of
"calling your wife.....is this correct???" it take up way too much time!

On the Jeep Uconnect website, it says that the 730N will play music with voice commands.... has anybody gotten this to work????

Works fine, so far!

|docz63||My 2013 jk 730n's battery is dead! Any thoughts if it will damage the 730n or if it has to be reset ? Battery was dead for week, now I trickle charged it and will find out if it affected head unit or my 550 lock pick tomorrow.|

|phansson||I agree tomthbomb...it is VERY overpriced for what it was. If I would have ordered my Rubi X, I would have special ordered delete or the 130 if they wouldn't have let me delete the radio. It isn't horrible, but it is NOT worth the price Jeep is asking.|

I started the thread and from time to time I post my latest disappointment with my $1,800 choice of in dash over priced stupidity.

|otnewt||wow, didn't even look at the date of the first post or the fact that there are 16 pages to this thread. I am sure I'm a little late to this party with any questions I was trying to help out with.|

don't know if its already been answered but the question about when you set it to 15 miles it shows 100 miles each direction and set it to 25 miles it shows 500 miles in each direction.
The answer I believe is that when you set it to a certain increment it is setting the scale. On the left of the screen(i think thats where it is) it gives you the little distance scale that looks kinda like |------| and what it is setting is that little distance to 10 miles or 25 miles or half a mile or whatever you set it to. so that distance on the screen equals the set distance. So if you want up close street views you need to set it to like a half mile or quarter mile.
Used to have the 730N in my 2012 jeep. I also had problems with entering addresses and don't think I ever figured out how to make it work and always had numbers missing that I needed to enter addresses. but as I type this I think I remember there being something to do with making sure it knows the right region you are in or something like that. I know that doesn't help. sorry.
As for showing MPH I remember back in 2012 when I had mine there being many discussions on the 430N showing MPH and the 730N not having that capability. Or at least I never saw any info that actually lead to me finding it although some people said it did and gave directions that didn't lead anywhere cause it would be telling you to go to some screen that didn't exist or hit some button that didn't exist. I figured they probably had the 430N and thought it was the 730N or they were just making stuff up.

Have we figured out what the latest firmware is? I have a brand new Rubi X with the 730N...
Also where does it say that this unit will let you text. If I can find that I will start wearing Jeep out.
I just checked mine
Database: HRT6-N 1249 4.4.1

I have not updated my GPS info on my 2012 JKU because I refuse to pay more for a software update than a new GPS unit cost at Walmart.
I was traveling in Galveston, TX this week and needed to drop off some mail at a post office.
I ask the 730N to direct me to a USPS office.
The first location I was sent to used to be a P.O. years ago but is now another government office.
The second location I was sent to was a small taco shop.
When I buy my next Jeep I will order the base head unit and install an after market unit.
