|Benjy||Jp, did you have a son or nephew get stuck in the mud? Like 14 or 16 years old? I met a group with a brand new new Jeep and a pretty young kid driving. Loaned them a strap that didn't have metal hooks on it to pull out the new Jeep. Had a blast myself, had to winch once up a black run. Too steep for a greenhorn like me.|

Anybody on here end up making it out??
Frostbite exceeded all our groups expectations. I was VERY impressed with how well my jeep, stock JK sport 2dr handled itself. It passed all the green trails and the few blues we decided to try out. It only had 1k miles on it, we ALL got a little carried away in some mudd sections towards the end of the day, after cleaning for hours on hours yesterday im still not sure if she will ever be same, lol. We made it through the day with no damage though, maybe a few small branch scuffs on the tops.
Through out the day we would park/hang out at the top of the BLACK trails where they meet the main/green trail, lots of good action every where to watch.

|jp.goody98||Oh yeah, i bet you'll be surprised how much they help out. With 35's my CJ would truck along happy at 70mph, but got a sollid 8mpg! Lol|

|bonemarrow||Well I just ordered 33" tires maybe that will help me gain a few mph's. I would love to tow te thing just in case it breaks but the camaro does not make for much of a tow vehicle. I might have to talk my dad into going along and pulling it with his diesel.|

Hey, I just sold my 78 CJ 3spd, have felt your concern on speed limitations.
If you are close to a harbor frieght store they sell a tow bar for cheap. I bought one but never used it. (didnt own it long enough before i fell in love with the 2012 JKs) I had plans of towing it down to the trail with said bar, and placing D-rings in the spots where it bolted to the bumbper when not in tow. Just a thought - JG

There will be 2-3 of us from Gladstone (Nothern Kansas Ciity area) heading down for this, all with JK's and new to the trail as well. Some what new to trails all together. Ive been told its a newbie friendly event so you'll be fine.
I say 2-3 since I just had knee surgery today. My doc made a funny face when asked about driving by the 25th, "we'll have to see" was his official responce. Driving def won't be a issue but then, but the longer duration concerned him, could cause swelling. I am going to at least ride, if not drive. -Jason G.

bone: check around on the break in, you'd be ok I think if you vary the speed a bit (search the forums to confirm), but if you're new to off-roading I'd take it easy with a new Jeep and let folks know so they'll keep an eye on you. I was fortunate to be so close to the fine folks at ESJA back in Delaware and I survived most of their trails with only some popped plastic fender rivets.
I found some UCORA folks meeting up at the El Dorado Walmart at 530am, I might try to join up with them for the drive over.
Post up or PM with your plans and we'll get there.

|Benjy||I signed up last nite, need to take it easy though, no lift yet. I'll be happy just getting off road a bit and making sure the 4wd still works! Sure would love to be in snow out there.|
