Unheroic Hero Don't even bother with a 4 banger. The gas mileage is about the same as the six. It seems odd, but it's true.

Looking to buy a used jeep need some input and never owned one

Hello Everyone
I am the new guy. I am looking on craigslist at a couple of used jeeps. I dont know much about jeeps so all input will be takin in.I want a 4 cyl for the gas mileage. I like the 97 and up models. It will not be a daily driver and it will be used on the deer lease in the winter. I would like one with a/c so when I go for a ride my kids will not complain how hot it is.I like the soft tops but do they leak? I have never driven one .I am sure they ride rough. I spoke with my mechanic and he said they is lots of maintance with one. Are they always breaking down. I want to know which year model is the better one. And what should I look for when i do buy one from an Individual. Thanks everyone. Tony
