|flowerfistandbestialwail||Got my first ever honk the other day. Was waiting at a red to make a right turn east and when the oncoming eastbound traffic stopped at their fresh red there was a lil stock JK at the front of one lane who honked when I didn't wave, figuring them to be too far away to notice even if they did care. Promptly made an enthusiastic albeit awkward wave while turning away from em and all was well|

|Huskie||About 2,500 miles during the past few days, from MN to CA and back. Not many waves, and I even passed though Moab.|

I ran completely stock (on the outside) for a good year...small upgrades until last weekend (2 1/2 years old) and I must say that 90% of the time here in Delaware I get the wave.
I have noticed though that it is very rare on separated highways. Mostly get waves from the guys with no doors on the seperated roads. 2 lane highways...it's happening...doesn't matter what year, upgrades, or who is in it.
What I have noticed more recently though are the blacked out interior ones and it's difficult to see anything inside...not sure what those guys/gals are doing.

|ffpd266||I have two pet peeves. One is people that do not use turn signals. The other is other jeep owners that do not wave back. I wave to all. Does not matter if it is stock (mine is for now), xtreme set-up or in between. But what is worse to me is jeep owners that do not use turn signals AND DO NOT WAVE!!! C'mon people, it is not rocket science. OK, I know using a turn signal requires manual dexterity, but a wave??? It's natural and it brings a smile to your face!!!!|

|gburkett||Think I have finally have all my locals trained to wave back. I give and receive from most every jeep I pass on my daily commute now.|

I would rather drive my shiny stocker that is muddy and scuffed underneath than a budget boosted posing pouch.
Everyone gets a wave from me.
Good choice, 2014 Sahara Unlimited here too.

|Spark18447||so i literally just got my first jeep last week, a 2014 jku sahara, and i was (and still am) absolutely stoked, i have plans for mods but truly nothing that extreme (just a lift, tires, rims etc etc...mainly bc i do plan on taking it off roading and mudding just not extreme hill climbing and rock crawling and it is my DD) ive had family and friends that had jeeps and was super ecstatic when i got my first jeep wave returned coming back from the dealership. however reading some of the older posts in this thread im kinda discouraged about some peoples opinion about people with jks... i mean dont get me wrong some of it i can understand... but in my case im 25 yrs old and engaged. i have no kids and i needed a new car. i have a good job and can afford a new one so i got one and ive always wanted a jeep... ive only had it for a week and my jobs good but not that good.... i dont have the money for some of the extreme mods... the biggest thing i looked forward to about getting my jeep was the "lifestyle" and the "wave" ... all im asking is dont be so quick to judge a "stock" it may have just not "blossomed" yet...|

I drive a Sahara (with stickers removed, TF 2.5" lift, 35" Duratracs, bumpers/tire carrier, etc.) and always wave. Stock Saharas, again, are typically girls.

|nboucher98||I Jeep Wave every time I see another Jeep, and I have an Unlimited. I get them back from all sorts of Jeeps. In fact, unless a high school of college girl is driving, I get waves from everyone. It's not just a 2-door (or YJ, or TJ, or CJ) thing. It's a Jeep Wave.|

Had my 2 door since May plus owned a YJ in the '90's. The salesman back then told me about the wave when I bought the Jeep. Been waving ever since. But when I bought the Willys in May, I knew more about the history of Jeep than the salesman We were talking about the history and I mentioned the wave and he looked at me with a puzzled look and said 'Wave?" This guy wasn't more than 25 yrs old. So I believe that it is more of an education of the past traditions that the sales people need to bone up on to educate the newer owners of today.
I wave at all I come by. Not to insult soccer moms (my daughter is one) but she learned the wave from me in 1995 she now owns a Jeep of her own and waves just as much. The tradition has to be passed down and should be part of the lore that sales people need to be aware of.
Just my 2 cents.

|marslim||I generally only wave to modified jeeps or wave back if they wave first... Too many soccer moms driving bone stock 4drs around my area, I'm not waving to them all.|

|rdgshooter||I had a 2 door for like a week but the dealer screwed everything up so I ended up buying a 4 door last week at a different dealer. I do the Jeep wave to both 2 door and 4 door it seems around my house I haven't got many waves back in the 4 door, but closer to work they usually wave first or wave back. I did seem to get more waves in the 2 door though.|

|NC Rob||Just got my 4 door, 50 50 on the wave.... But they ll catch on!👋|
|09-10-2014 08:16 PM|
|JackDaWack||I see MANY more 4doors daily, and 85% of time i get a waive back... even from the soccer moms! they seem more excited then most actually... I drive a 4 door and i always waive, mods get a thumbs up.|
|09-10-2014 08:16 PM|
|Kevinsmith5||It may depend on where you are. Here in eastern nc I get waves from probably 80% of Wrangler drivers (and I see WAY more than five headed to work). What I've noticed is that Sahara drivers and those with chrome are less likely to wave, regardless of door count.|

|Midas_Touch||4 doors here, and happily wave to fellow jeepers|
|09-10-2014 08:10 PM|
|Gumbys69||I noticed the same thing except if the 4 dr is full of mods then they wave.|
|09-10-2014 08:08 PM|
|Charlesdalton||4 doors and wave to both.|

Is the Jeep wave only a 2 dr thing?
Had my JK 2 dr. for about 10 months now. Right after buying it I saw a thread here about doing the Jeep wave so we always watch and wave. I see about 5 or 6 Jeeps on my way to work and home again every day. It is rare that I don't get a wave first, or in response. I have noticed however that I can't remember ever getting a return wave from a 4 door Jeep driver. Usually just a blank stare. Please no flaming!!! I'm not saying anything disrespectful about 4 doors or their owners. Just curious though if this is just a 2 dr. thing. My boss has had his 2 dr. for about 10 years and was saying that he notices the same thing. Just curious what your experiences in this are.
