NolaTJ86 After doing a lot of research and reading I think I am going to get the zone 4.25" combo kit over the RE 2-2.5" budget boost. I have a 2000 TJ Sahara, 4.0L i6 auto, currently running 31"x10.5 pro comp all terrains. Will it make a huge difference if I continue to run the 31" tires until they wear out, they are almost brand new (complete noob question sorry). I will probably get the jks front adjustable track bar and the steering stabilizer. Would I have to regear after the install and/or after I went to 33" tires?. Once again noob question but does the disconnect option mean? What would that do if I got it?

TJSurf Yes, you can install the 3" SL now and wait to add the BL/MML if you want. I've had the 3" lift for about 4 month and plan on adding the BL/MML soon.

Davidicus1 I am getting ready to pull the trigger and buy either the 3" suspension lift or the 4.25" combo kit both by Zone.

My question is if i buy the 4.25" can i install the 3" suspension lift now and wait to see if i want to add the BL and MML? If i like the look i may just sell these parts but it sure is cheaper to buy the 4.25 kit versus the 3" and later buy a BL and MML.

I haven't done anything to my brake lines. I got a front JKS tracbar. So far I haven't had to do the SYE and no vibes.

Something like that...I think we stripped one out bad and reused the old one or something. I was thinking the extra bolt we had was a small bolt like what was used on the relocation bracket, but maybe I'm wrong. It's been so long I definitely could be mistaken.

Coasttrash s3nt3ncd3, that extra bolt from the rear trac did you re-use your stock bolt on the rear trac bar bracket? That extra bolt is to replace the trox bolt. Atleast thats what I used it for.

Daydreamnation0312 Hey guys I'm really looking into getting the 4.25 Zone lift combo with some 33's and I was wondering if it is a good lift that can take a beating when on the trails

GoldenSahara00 Yeah man, I'm not sure if the bushing is worn or the bolt is just slightly wrong. I had shifting like you at one point. But torqued it back down hard and never had a problem again. it doesn't make sense that one hole works and another wouldn't, so it has to be some piece of hardware or something failing. Bushing bolt etc. I agree with you about the adj being nice but I'm gona plate the back of the braket with 1/4 in steel and drill tht as well I shouldn't have any issues then

I installed my JKS adjustable in the front...it's a very simple install. Unbolt the old one, bolt in the new basically. If you get the body lined up to the axle just right, you can just adjust the trackbar to fit perfectly and it should be close. You do have to drill one of the holes larger and it's a pretty large drill bit (9/16" if I remember right)...in order to drill that hole larger I had to unhook a few of my suspension components (tie rod and possibly drag link...can't remember) just to move them out of the way so I could drill straight. Again, unbolt them, move them out of the way, bolt them back in once finished. It really is a very simple job though...and don't forget to grease it once installed.

For the rear, I used the bracket Zone provided and installed it exactly as described...it's a pretty solid bracket. I think I did use one less bolt for it...for some reason I seem to remember it calling for bolt in various locations on it and we had one extra bolt it called for and no extra holes in the bracket to use it in. Regardless, it was very solid. For the front adjustable trackbar...don't drill the hole or install any brackets. Just use the original hole. If you want to reinforce it like UnlimitedLJ04 has mentioned in other threads, that's fine obviously, but I didn't do that using the stock hole.

I used the right size hole and right size bolt...still wallowed the hole out. I think my bushing was getting worn out or something cuz no matter how tight I made the bolt, the trackbar still shifted (bolt didn't).

I don't recall what I paid but it was a lil over $500 shipped I believe when I bought mine last year (and I bought a few extras)...but one of the cheapest places you'll get it is Allen (username is AOR). Send him a PM on here...he's a vendor and will treat you right.

GoldenSahara00 The hole only wears out if you still it like they tell you. Get the right sized bolt and drill the corrected sized hole and it works fine. It still weakens the plate however so anything over 33s I would weld up some extra plate to back it. Thts what I'm doing when I'm workin on my next proj.

s3nt3nc3d My linkage was all messed up...it worked, but I had problems getting in and out of 4lo...I replaced the entire piece of junk setup with a Novak cable shifter. One of the best mods I ever did.

jeep-dj i was thinking about the combo lift, did you have to adjust transfer case lever linkage?

terminator012 Heck man, I did my on body lift and I am no mechanic. It's the simpliest thing you can do. I did it all by myself with one jack. It took me a little over an hour to do the whole thing. Just spray down your bolts weeks in advance with some PB blaster and you will be fine.

I also recommend the mml. It;s not hard to do either and you want have to mess with lining the radiator back up. Grab wrench have fun

shrekfx O.k. I'll probably do the 3in to start then go from there.. I'll do the body later if i beside to go that route. Biggest issue is finding someone here to install a body without charging an arm and a leg and to find a place that will do one period.. Most places I checked here refuse to do body lifts. The place I'm going to get one installed is an authorized zone dealer just doesnt recommend doing it. Im sure I can convince them to, but I think he said it will cost a lot more to do it or something like that.

Like it has been said above, I am running the 4.25 combo, not really all Zone because my body lift was all ready on before 3" suspension lift. I think you will be well pleased with the set-up.

I personally would do the combo over the 4 inch...but that's just me. If you do a lot more off-roading, the 4" will offer more suspension travel than the 3" obviously. IMO, for the average off-roader...the combo requires less work to "do it right" compared to the 4".

GoldenSahara00 The arms on the zone lift are no where near as nice as a lot of others. And I don't think they are adjustable. So if you do get an sye you'll have to get all new arms. At least rear uppers to adjust pinion angle.

But are you recommending the 3in over the 4in?

With that 4" kit...there's a much higher possibility of needing control arms, sye, etc. I haven't heard any complaints with that kit...but just be aware that the likelihood of additional parts to prevent vibes and such will be much higher with a 4" kit over a 3" kit.

Owen_TJ You'll be fine, you wont look "too" outta place

I'm currently running 32x11.5's on mine but will run 33x12.5's once these are shot...i also have flat fenders up front and flat flares in the rear (as of this weekend, anyway) so i've got a ton of room with the 32's and will still have a ton with the 33's

As for the step...i agree with the idea mentioned above, get some sliders with a built in step instead of getting the factory ugly bars that get hung up on rocks...i mean factory side steps

shrekfx O.k. well that rules out going to this guy. LOL.. For tire size, down the road i'll be going with 33s, but right now i'm using 31s.

X2. And suspension raises everything except axles higher. Body lift only raises the tub. So a body lift raises the cog a lot less.

Um...no. A HUGE lift will raise the center of gravity, but a 3" lift won't raise it that much...and a small body lift will only slightly raise it compared to a suspension lift.
