Power Steering Fluid?
I lean towards PS because I had the exact symptoms as you describe in my YJ....I know it's a FAR Cry from a Rubi....But, my serp belt otherwise seemed Fine, but when I swapped it for a "Best" out of a "Good-Better-Best" line up of belts my issue went away.
I'm interested in finding out what your issue is. Good Luck.

So i gues the tire rotation eliminates the tires then?

No funny noises when turning, even had the doors off on the way home today. A rubicon only forum is suggesting the axle joing (needle bearings siezing) or a bad ball joint/unit bearing.
So, we know its not the tires, since rotating them didn't help.
the trackbar didn't show any movement indicating its loose, and I don't have a torque wrench. either way, the jeep is only at 36,500 miles, so it should be ok.. technically..
looks like we have U-Joints, ball joint/unit bearing, and alignment. I checked the alignment myself, and had a shop check it, about 3,000 miles ago, so it SHOULD be ok. Ill check it sometime this week to make sure. Oh well. Everytime i fix the darn thing, something else decides to give out, and I don't even beat on it.. Guess its not going to be taking me back to WV for the funeral in a few days..

|64panhead||it sounds like a bad u-joint my dodge truck had bad u-joints and would turn the wheel back and forth in my hands when turning|

|kizer||Check your track bar and make sure its torqued down to 65lbs on the frame. Its been known to come loose and move around in the mount and do some bizarre things. As well I've seen trackbars wear out the inside of their bushings and even thou they are tight they where wobbing around on the inside.|

|bpowa||maybe the tire is out of round. thread seperation on the outter side. most shops wont catch this, because it will still balance. try jacking the tires and spinning your wheels, nd see if it wobbles.|

Nope, no more vibration going straight than normal. I thought bent rim myself, but I haven't done anything to bend it, it does nothing odd going straight, and it still happened when I rotated the tires.
when driving in a circle at like 15mph, it does feel like a pretty bent steel wheel though.

Definitely not in 4wd, hit some ice on my road trip and it was definitely 2wd when I was stuck, until I engaged 4wd
No, just the factory air lockers, not engaged, definitely in 2wd.
Rotated the tires, and balanced them, got the newer ones up front now. Almost feels worse! It feels like, i dunno, like the front tires lug nuts are REALLY loose, and the tires are wobbling through turns
I dont know, but I have to make this trip again in a few more days for my grandma's funneral, so I hope we can figure it out soon!!
I saw a VERY SMALL, like maybe 1/32 play in the joint from tie rod end to pitman arm, but i dont think its enough to cause this issue.

|erickpl||Do you have an autolocker in front? Even in 2WD, on really sharp, lowspeed turns, I get a hopping similar to what you describe.|

|jeeperman||Could be your tires, but here is a really dumb question for you: Are you positive that it isn't stuck in 4wd? That sounds like the handling that you would get with 4wd on dry pavement. I would check that tonight as well. Otherwise, I got nothin'. Good luck.|

|JCS05Rubi||Belts good, no signs of cracking or anything. I am thinking tires too. If I don't see anything loose underneith when he shakes the wheel, I am not going to worry about it. I would rotate them, but the ones with the most tread are on the bad. I was trying to hold out rotating until there is no snow in the future(rotated about 2500 miles ago anyway). I am going to re-balance them tomorrow anyway, just for comfort sake. Can't seem to keep these MT/Rs balanced for more than 2,000 miles.|

Steering wheel shake/pulse during sharp turns
Either this just started, or I just noticed it. When turning onto a perpendicular road, or making a U turn etc, I get a pulse or shake back and forth, the wheel is even moving a little bit. Took a quick look underneith, didn't see anything bent or leaking, all all fitting bags are lubed and full. Got a buddy coming over to shake the steering in my driveway soon. I just got a call from my aunt, and I need to make a ~700 mile round trip drive sat/sun and this JUST started the other day. Any suggestions on what to look for, or could it just be my tires? The MT/Rs on the front are at 9/32s, rears are 13. Maybe they are just going wacky again like the other 2 I replaced?
