ArthurTJ04 Painted my hood hinges flat black.
Replaced my blinker and side markers with a darker ones, bulbs are orange and the lenses aren't that dark so it is visible.
Put the decal on the hood. I order these with Andy his name here is 10tonvinyl he does great work, price is right, and quality is top notch. Thanks again brother.

Hot glue. lol. No, seriously. I spent a few hours searching online for some sort of switch plate that takes the TJ stock switches, then gave up and searched for Contura switches that will do rear wiper, defrost, overdrive... and gave up on that as hopeless as well. I couldn't make a bracket that lined up the switches perfectly (even 1mm off and they get stuck against the edge of the metal) so I held them carefully in place and piled on lots of hot glue to the back of the sheet metal. Not the solution I had hoped for, but I'll see how long it takes them to fall off.

I've never seen a mod like it, so I thought I should finally sign up on here now that I have something to share that might inspire others to come up with similar mods. I plan on making a new version at some point that includes a switch panel, once I can afford a winch and offriading lights, etc. But for now this works pretty well. I've got a usb charger wired in to the ignition switched 12V, and an app that turns on the screen when there is power and locks the screen when the power is off, and there are no exposed buttons for anyone to wake/mess with the tablet when the car is off. On that note, you have to take everything apart to get the tablet out, so this isn't the kind of thing where you pop it in and out, but I've seen slide in tablet mounts in custom car dashes before.
That's awesome. Now I want one!

What did you use to relocate the factory switches?
meadmichaelj Thanks, here's a couple pics of the process.

Here's the dash cut away, and what I did for amps. I bought a 4ch and 2ch Punch amp and they are small enough to stuff in the corners and just clear the back of the crossover.

Here's how I made a template, first with some foam board, then cut out of 20 gauge sheet metal. (I learned that a Dremel is a frustratingly slow way to cut holes in sheet metal and that I need to buy an angle grinder.)

Here's the side view of the components together. I was able to take the face off my CB and rotate it 90 degrees since it is connected with ribbon cables. It never would have fit in there straight back. The crossover barely fits, the RCA cables get smooshed against the defroster vent, but it just makes it.

And finally, A straight on picture, day/night.

The blue LED light from the crossover is almost blinding at night, I wish it had a dimmer, but I'll look for one that is either not so bright, or maybe have a flip cover for it or something.

Dirty Backroads I put a 13" Antenna X on the TJ. Reception sucks but it looks good and doesn't bang up against my mirror.
