|pete218||I think this could happen to any car.. when i start my car on a cold morning i turn the heat on immediatly so the temperature gradually heats the glass.. Its like anything else, the rapid change in temp from letting your car warm up, then blasting the heat could do that to any car|

disconnect your heater. problem solved
how cold was it when it happened?

the heater cracked my jk windshield
It snowed here in wv wednesday and my wife was driving to pittsburg to catch a flight. so being the southern gentlemen that I am , I cleared the snow and took a short drive on the 4-lane to warm it up.
after getting it up to temp I turned the heater on and came on home. I left the defroster on hot and went inside. in a matter of 3 min I went oputside to get something and the windshield had cracked.
there is no doubt that it was the defroster as the shape of the crack was almost centered perfectly where the vent is. the dealer took care of it even though I didn't buy it there and will be replaced on minday when she returns.
I figured this might be rare but in case this happens to you and they give you s*$t about it its happened before.
