Kristi sorry to hear of your troubles...yikes that is a long time to be without your baby...hope issue is resolved soon and your reunited. My sister gets loaners all the time, but they did have a limit on days loaned so remainder of time she would get a rental. Tomorrow is first day of fall and that means I can finally get pumpkin spice coffee...its available before but I like to have full effect of gettin it with a seasonal change. Anytime you have a question or need to vent you can post and we are more than happy to help.

Jr. Rubi CyndiB, your depiction on a joyful moment in time was wonderful. I can relate to the much anticipated change in weather. !! My favorite time of the year, the maturity of life is in the fall, a quiet peace, and fullness. a big breath before the cold sets in. Living the moment.. Thats great, and thanks for that!
Jr. Rubi Thank you : folks for the info. I will definately go look at those sites CyndiB, that list, Lunatic_Fridge is the place to start, and Priscila_06JT ...not a bad idea, taking out the back seat... I have the 4 doors, and it seems I just don't put the groceries in at the back door.&.those seats are removable....NICE !!
I just got my jeep at the first of the month, under 500 miles and its in the shop already : ( the temperature went up so high it and it was BONGing and they have it for about 8 days waiting for a part so they can diagnose it... (TIPM) said it wasnt anywhere in Las Vegas..and had to be shipped... * days sounds like a lonf time for a part doesnt it ? I'm deflated.
But I'm glad there are girls here who may be able to help me understand some of the terminology. And may have gone thru these things.
My jeep is my DD but i love the mountains and I've been getting back to hiking and i needed more clearance than a sedan had. I look forward to my jeep taking me places. I was looking to got up the canyon to see the fall colors beginning, in the Aspen. But, just want to ask right now... the warranty covers a Rental /$35 a day/ 5 days.... I have to pay the taXES FOR IT AND FUEL and insurance. since 8 days is minimum he says... why didnt they just give me a LOANER ? anybody been thru this before ??---- I appreciate your answers------------ Kristi

CyndiB Good morning all. I'm definitely NOT glad that it's Monday (plus I have a dentist appointment this afternoon), but I am glad that SoCal temps have dropped down to the 90s and gas is cheap enough now ($3.75) for me to drive the jeep to work every day! Even though I'm anxious to try out my new half-door window sliders, I'm happy to not have to put them on yet. I was driving behind a hay truck the other morning, the air was crisp, the smell of freshly cut hay was wonderful, and I was reminded yet again of how wonderful driving a jeep is.

I moved out of an apartment in May and moved into a 1 car garage that we converted into a room, so most of my stuff is packed still and stored at my moms..luckily she is only like two blocks away from my house!

Congratulations on yours as well!

Good morning everyone! I am happy it is Monday! I know...I'm crazy!

GIGANTIC backward with a covered deck and a sand pit, perfect for a fire pit. So much room for everything we want!

We are thinking of getting chickens! Just gotta teach Wrang not to eat them

Nomination accepted ONLY IF it comes with Reeses Cups! We love them and have been known to take them on the trail in a baggie in the cooler. Nothing better for a long day of wheeling and sucking in magical desert dust than a COLD REESES CUP! Other than maybe taking some old or cheap hand towels, toss them in the cooler and apply liberally to cool you down.

My son says the same thing in Ohio lol. There are a "fair" number of lady Jeepers here, but we are vastly outnumbered by guys. Just the nature of the hobby I guess. I am often on runs where I am the only lady driver.

What I suggest for basic recovery and emergency goods are the following.

20,000lbs 30ft recovery strap
two 3/4 inch D shackles
Jumper Cables
Tire Slime
Tire Repair Kit
Air Compressor
Tire Pressure Gauge
First Aid Kit

That should be a really good start. After that then you get into tools and emergency repair parts and vehicle fluids and all sorts of other stuff if you want to be ready for it all.

The basics are get you fixed up if you get hurt, get your vehicle off of something its stuck on with the help of another vehicle or a winch if you have one and keep air in the tires so you can keep driving.

Yes I am an overgrown Boy Scout and MMC will atest to that fact.

CyndiB RoseBud - that sounds exciting! I hope you get it!

Rubi, there are plenty of online Jeep shopping sites, but Quadratec and Morris 4x4 are two good reputable ones. There are locking boxes of different sizes for different locations, so it just depends on what you want to lock up. I have something called an InstaTrunk in mine that fits behind the rear seat so when the tailgate is locked there's a secure area big enough for a purse or a few shopping bags. The downside of it is that you really can't put the backseat down or take it out without taking the top part out. It's just a few screws, so it's do-able when needed. But check out Qtec and Morris, they have lots of things to tempt you to spend your paycheck on, lol

Priscila_06TJ RB that sounds cozy...like MMC said fingers crossed....

JrRubi....hmmmm well I carry nothing...but there is lockboxes and cargo nets and dust covers for rear to keep your stuff from flying out...I took my rear seat out, its useless to me. But the other girls have shovels, saws, and road kits..I guess it just depends on wat your using jeep for. Mines my DD and I have a short commute to work, and if I take it off road someones always with me with gear.

Hi there. Us girls need to talk. My Lil' Rubi is new and im interested in your ideas about organizing my jeep so it has what i need, when i need it. Ok, its not quite like a purse, but hey....Tailgate/ organizer ? What is that ? I like the idea of a lock
box, where did you place it ? Etc. Im also interested in what to carry around. 1) all the time 2) when you're heading out of town. Thanks girls. This too is my first jeep. I traded in a sedan to go get adventure ! : )

Jeepalicious Oh RB - that sounds awesome - plenty of space & renovating can be fun!!! We have a looong gravel driveway & when we get a few feet of snow the Jeep is the only vehicle that can make it in & out without a plow! I want silkie hens so bad - but for now just settle for the neighbors wandering over on occasion
