|jake4r||Get this, the problem ended up being a bad fuel pressure regulator. The regulator was letting the pressure in the fuel rail build up to over 80psi so the injectors couldn't hold back the gas and they were flooding the cylinders with fuel. Here I thought it was an electrical problem, but when I checked the fuel pressure and saw it was over 80 I knew that had to be an issue. Replaced the regulator and now it starts and runs fine. I'm still planing on rebuilding the engine though due to the fact that it has 170,000 miles on it and no sign of a rebuild or engine change. Thanks for all the advise.|

|Sb5551||Crap sorry didnt read your post that well. Well when my jeep cranked but wouldnt start it turned out the computer went. I could tell that because all the guages were dead even if I put gas into it. I would need more info to diagnos that but check your plugs to see if there is spark would be the next step. My buddys yj died because water got into the distributer so he had no spark. You can also just open the distibuter and see what that looks like.|

|jake4r||And your's would just crank sometimes but not fire? Yeah that's strange, you'd think that if the battery wires were bad, it wouldn't crank or would crank slow. But hey, if it worked, I'll look into it on mine. I plan on taking this weekend to work on it so I'll let ya know how I make out. Thanks for the tip.|

|Sb5551||I had the same type of problem in my 97 TJ. I tried to replace the battery, but it still did not help untill I replaced the battery terminals with replacement one from walmart. Havent had a problem in over a year now. I thought this might have been a joke because my old terminals had no damage or corrosion but this worked perfectly.|

Hey, thanks everyone. I checked out quadratec. Looks like a great place to start. Question, you're all talking about site vendors, what's that and how do I check them out.
On another note, the jeep i bought is a 94 with a 4 banger. I only paid 1800 for it cause it has a starting issue. Sometimes it starts right up no problem, and once it's started it runs great. But sometimes all it does is crank, it won't fire at all. I don't believe it's a fuel delivery problem cause even a squirt of starting fluid won't get it to even try to fire. I'm thinking it's electrical. The crank trigger and the coil were both changed out by the previous owner. Does anyone have any ideas where else I should look? If not I'm gonna just work backwards from the plugs till I find it, but I didn't know if this might be a common problem and someone might point me in that direction. Thanks in advance for any help.

|Sb5551||Congrats on the jeep. I am not sure how far you are from West Chester, but Quadratech is right there. It isn't exactlly a shop though unless you know someone who works there more of a warehouse. I would have to reccomend checking out the forums vendors first though because this place will become your next best friend. I also like to try to install my aftermarket parts myself so I know what it does and what Im doin to it. Personal preference. Good luck and Im sure we'll see you wheelin around.|

I don't know about any local shops up there but I've bought most of my stuff online from other shops.
Check out 4x4rockshop and Absolute offroad. They are both forum vendors and I've had great experiences dealing with both of them

Buying my first Jeep tonight....
Hey everyone, i'm buying my first jeep tonight. It's a 94 4cyl. Pretty much stock. Was wondering where to go for aftermarket parts. Either locally or on the web. I live near Gettysburg PA. I don't mind traveling for a good off road shop though. Any help would be appreciated.
