i plan on doing the nutter bypass when we get some better weather after i get the oil leak and ac squared away. at that point should i be able to delete those vacuum lines? again new to the carb bit

Oldmuddy That goes to the intake man.there should be a fitting on the maninafold that part that the c clamp is closing off should fit on .its a vac source for some of the vac systems for the EPA crap.

olbaid_83 no ideas i really dont know much about this kind of stuff but probably next weekend a friend and i are going to dig into it to clean it all up and fix all the nasty po stuff.

I agree it looks like the one Jeep puts on the manifold with one line plugged other going to air cleaner and other going to egr valve right by the c-clamp. It doesn't look exactly like the one that came on my Jeep but I'm wondering if they found one on another vehicle and used it and that's why they used c-clamp to keep it mounted????

rogerf1970 to me it looks like a vacuum junction that the bottom broke out of and the clamp is holding it all together

olbaid_83 ill try to get some better pics of it and follow the lines its connected to so i can give more info on it. ive only driven the jeep around the block and up the street to walmart and back so im not really worried about it for now but it is a little disturbing knowing something under my hood is c-clamped and zip tied lol

no, I wouldn't leave it

unfortunately, I can't really tell what it is holding together.

not exactly sure what that is that the clamp is holding together. any ideas? should i leave it?
