My number one concern is really just preventing rust. But if it works out that the hood gets repainted by a pro I sure won't complain. Really I'm pretty disgusted that the paint is completely peeling off an 03 to begin with.

denisbaldwin Hit it with a good paint stripping disc and rattle can it. Should be fine

If the wife doesn't like it, tell her to be thankful you didn't do it to her car first.

But to the OP, i would just sand it down and roll on some bedliner.....i'm sure she could appreciate a rugged look.

Green03TJ Ha ha. Y'all are awful. I actually didn't want it to look too good because I plan on getting done right eventually. But if that doesn't happen I'll probably redo it when the weather gets better and do a better job then.

you should just sand it down, prime it, and paint it slowly...it'll turn out just fine!

So my wife just told me she won't ride in my Jeep anymore...

At least not in daylight. All because I spray painted most of the hood. It had peeled off all the way to the metal and she didn't want to spend the money on getting it repainted. I warned her. Ha ha
