I might end up using it lol.. Not getting too many offers. And I was looking to get rid of it because I need the money for apartment rent and other stuff. Its not like it doesnt run. It runs fine.. I ran it most everyday for a long while now. Im using my brothers jeep and once I start my career and and getting nice paychecks every week, I can get my own jeep again. But being in college, and having to pay for rent, gas, food, etc. without any money is really difficult lol. We will see though.. Hopefully someone comes around, but if not, I will end up running it again probably.

Hmm.. Im not a huge fan of red.. though.. both of my brothers have red tjs, my grampa has a red cj, and my step-dad has a maroon/redish tj sport. So i cant say i hate the red because i would be insulting my entire family lol.. but all my yellow and flat-black bedliner is spray can.. im a big fan lol and red ferraris are nice lol

Truth is, I've been looking into it. I have my rear shackle mounts looking sturdy again so its been heavily debated with the rear especially. The fronts.. I'd like to have longer brake lines before I do anything anyway, so I'm not in a hurry with that track or the sway.. but I am veryyy curious to see my jeep flex.. haven't been able to once since Ive had it :/ always been running tracks and sway. Once I get the longer brake lines tho.. you can bet that's the first thing on my mind lol and I'm researching what other rigs are using for shackles, etc. to run without tracks and sway.

wranglerbrother Ok! Got the tailpipe in last night! you can see what it looked like before at the top of this page and the previous post! I like this so much more! Its an "actual" yj tailpipe, fit for a yj. haha and it actually fits! this doesnt usually happen for some reason.. but this actually worked out! Its a little quieter in the tub, now that all the sounds goes out the back instead of ending underneath the center console lol. :x andddddd it gave me some clearance near the t case drop since the muffler and tailpipe before were kinda resting on it and hanging on the axle.. it was actually really dangerous come to think of it :/ but this is awesome, looks, sounds, and feels better. for only $20, you cant get much better!

Look how far down this thing used to hang!

Now:

Here are some shots of the finished product.. hard to get good angles :/

Wahoo!

wranglerbrother Well, it has been a little bit since ive posted.. got some mini updates.. First off.. the corner/side panels i was sizing up in previous posts, are done.. just gotta get them on. And for that, i need some sort of silicon or gasket of some sort, and do a small amount of cutting.. will only take an hour or 2 max to get them on when i finally go get some gasket stuff lol. but i also just bought a used tailpipe finally! haha. Not sure if anyone has noticed but ive never actually had a real yj tailpipe.. either a cobbed tailpipe out of flex like this thing:

or a cut-off after the muffler lol, like this:

But now, I bought this! for $20 from a local jeep guy! gotta love the jeep community

So, that abouts covers where i am.. with about a maximum of 3 hours worth of time at my uncles garage i should have all these mini-mods covered!

wranglerbrother Good man! and that kinda sucks :x and what should u do next or me?!
07-14-2013 03:19 AM
3-dub17 I did use the conduit clamps. It was so easy. I gotta cruise by tranny shop next week cuz transfer case has a lil leak, but... What to do next ?

And hey! you gotta start some where, am i right? It probably looks a lot like mine in the beginning! Hope you can get that puppy runnin like a top this weekend man! goodluck

wranglerbrother Okay, here is my sheet metal templates up to where they will be! Though i think i may have altered them some after taking this pic! :P They have 2 coats of yellow paint on them! after this post, there will be a third coat! tell me what you think of it so far!

Remember that these arent mounted or anything.. so if they dont look very flush.. its cuz they are just kinda sitting on top of the flares..

And heres a few of the jeep during a beautiful (finally) day!

Well.. the main reasons really.. money, time, and work. It would have costed more to buy a dana 44 or ford rear end or something and buy a brand new braking system and all that work with shaving off the yj mounts from my last yj and welding to the right spots on the new axle.. It would have costed way more because i can not do that work myself. or else i would have. And i had to do something soon because my tires were wearing TERRIBLY And since i bought them brand new.. i did not want them to wear any more than needed.. So i looked around craigslist and local forums and found nothing that i could handle or have a shop do for even close to the price i spend.. If i could do all the work and had all the parts necessary already, it would have been a different story. So.. As crappy as it is to replace the crappy D35 with another D35.. i didnt have much for options. Though it would have been the perfect opportunity to upgrade, all those reasons unfortunately prevented me from being able to upgrade..

wranglerbrother Ps. My gramma is gonna make me some seat covers for the back seat! She will start soon! Shes very good at that sort of thing.. quilting and sewing clubs for many years is coming in very handy!
07-11-2013 04:06 PM
wranglerbrother Ok, And someone requested to see my recovery kit that i have going! (not complete)

Here is it!

Tow straps, Chains, Hose clamps

Inside the little recovery box..
few more hose clamps, bungie chord, two flashlights (one wind up, one LED i think), $1 switch blade, Electric current tester, and then the screw driver with a few removable bits.. a lot of nuts and bolts too. And the shovel on the inside of the tailgate

Back seat is in too! with the speakers in the back!

And some CJ corner panels that my cousins gave me for free since they have a billion spare cj parts.. I will do something cool with them

Anddddd lastly! My latest project.. This is the rough template for the sheet metal body armour im gonna fab up

So the idea with this is to cover up the big welding line left under that template :P Its not suppose to be very "functional" .. More cosmetic than anything else.. Gonna cut up some 24 gage sheet metal that was left behind at the shop and cut it to size, paint it yellow, and mount black self-tapping screws about .5inches in from the sides and about every 2-4 inches on the sheet metal. What do you all think? Im excited for it!
07-11-2013 03:52 PM
wranglerbrother Alright.. some updates!!

got my jeep back with a good axle! (hopefully) lol.. cost enough.. Im about out of sheckles to spend on upgrades at the moment but a few things have changed and a few mods are to come that are free

Heres the new dana 35.. doesnt look to pretty.. but.. man.. its pretty functional.. i guess.. lol
