reissc1 I have a question about the sway bar links with this lift. I'm currently running a rc spacer lift that came with new rear links, and we moved the old rears to the front. Do you think I will be fine keeping both my current front and rear links as is in this instance?

Hey-I saw a video from Tereflex that took five minutes to move the skid plate over 50mm to the outboard side so when flexing you don't tear the boot????

simadownow6988 Great looking Jeep! I have a 2.5 AEV waiting in my garage to install. My 2012 Rubi should arrive at the dealer 7/4, so the lift will be installed soon. Ill be running 34" KM2s.

I do believe the 2.5 AEV kit is basicly for the DD, with mild off road use. If you seriously off road, then you need a kit designed for just that.

I think its comical for someone to tear something up and blame the manufacturer.

Luke5688 I installed aev 2.5 on my 2012 sahara bout 1000 miles ago. I did all work myself with no prior suspension experience in about 6 hours with hand tools. Liked the kit except for brake line relocation set up. Love the new ride, i feel better than stock. Running 33" duratracs on 17 stock rims with spacers. Couldn't be happier. No issues here as i see some others have. Only Light off pavement so far, no rock crawling yet. It is possible that installer error could throw off any suspension system. Make sure you disconnect front driveshaft to avoid damage. Also keep steering wheel straight before work, i failed to do so causing the esp to go nuts. But after a quick alignment and steering adjustment my new pro-cal that i had ordered fixed her right up. Again i am very happy so far and need to mention the progressive springs are a great combo. If somebody has trouble with aev set up call them.

Did you get your lift on yet? I'm ready to order kit now but I'm really having a hard time figuring out which one to get. There are so many options our there. I am going to do mild to moderate off road and will be running 35s. I think 2.5 is plenty of lift and I'll be doing the stock fender mod as well. I'm stuck on which 2.5 - 3.5 to get and all the other stuff, i.e. steering.

hwy1rubi Another request for information.

This was posted on JKO:

"Well for me AEV front track bar bracket (bent & wallowed holes), Sway bar links (boots tear & links turn to crap), Control arm drop brackets bend & the paint doesn't hold up very well causing rust, Stock control arm bushings will go bad from flexing, Had to replace multiple shocks due to leaking, Tie rod makes contact with sway bar extension bracket (fixed with new Synergy tie rod), bad drag link (replaced). There is better more complete systems out there for what AEV is priced is at. Im not going into further detail on this because there is multiple threads on this already. I wish I would have listened to the other members on the forum & stayed away from this system when I was told so. I would have saved a lot of money if I did. I dont even offroad as hard as some of the other members & things started falling apart. AEV's customer service in my opinion is horrible. When something fails they try to make it like its the customers fault before anything. I have replaced multiple components on my rig with Synergy parts & have had nothing but the best in customer service. Something that I value & is the reason why I will continue to use Synergy components."

AEV 3.5" SC lift with 35's and 37's. - JKowners.com : Jeep Wrangler JK Forum

Have any of you with an AEV lift had similar issues?

Can those of you with a AEV lift give me some feed back on how it is holding up.

hwy1rubi Any updates from anyone running the AEV 2.5?

I am considering this lift myself and am interested in any feedback.

Silverton34 Stock driveshaft boot will tear with any lift brand on '11 and earlier auto trans models if you flex it out real well. That boot is not a critical component to operation or longevity of the driveshaft. If the boot tears on the rzeppa joint where the driveshaft meets the transfer case you have a seriously limited amount of time untill you will need a replacement.

My guess would be you installed something incorrectly. Doesn't seem that anyone else has had that problem, at least from what I've seen on the AEV forum.

Silverton34 Just completed a week in Moab with my '12 JKUR and the AEV 2.5 kit with the correction brackets. No exhaust mods and no issues with the driveshaft. Amazing performance both on and off road. These springs and shocks work perfectly together. Washboard trails were FINALLY not an issue any more.

mo1416 Anyone else take it out on trails yet? How does it perform?
