Its your dealer. They get a VON right when the order is placed in the system. If they refuse to give you a VON then they never ordered the Jeep. It's an old trick to tell you the factory has "issues" so you'll take one off the lot.
It'd the VIN you have to wait a bit to get. Go to another dealer.

I am done with Jeep
Tried I am Jeep. They told me the vehicle can take 8 to 12 weeks. No one apparently knows when a backorder can be filled. The last thing they wanted to be was helpful.
I never heard of anything so ridiculous. I am calling to get my deposit returned today.
I can't in good faith give my money to this company.
Thanks for the advice all.

|keegs54||i still cant believe you havent heard anything. it looked like you ordered yours a few days before me and my dealer just told me my delivery date should be march 5th. also the dealer gets a von as soon as he puts the order into the system. vechicle order number. i would call 1877 i am jeep and see what they say maybe your dealer dosnt have any alotments left and cant put order in. because if he did he has the von|

Still waiting; 5 weeks and not even a VON.
My dealer is pointless.
Anyone in the same position hear anything?
Ready to go the deposit refund route

|Strokerswild||Yeah, if you want to pay $600 more.....|

|Silverton34||Unfortunately most automotive wheels are now made in China. It could take quite some time for a decent stock of these wheels to arrive. eBay has a set that are takeoffs for $999. I would go that way.|

It still shocks me Chrysler is having such an issue getting parts. The wheels aren't the only thing they are having issues with parts too. Whoever is running their Logistics Chain just blows. I feel for you guys and good luck.
Good news is I guess I can sell mine pretty easy. I didn't really want them being polished aluminum but they were on the Jeep I had to have.

Here is a good question: For any questions that seem to go unanswered by Chrysler.
Who does have the answer? In this case, it is a simple case of one item in short supply. It is virtually impossible fo no one person in the entire corporation to not know what is going on.
It seems like it is that way with colors, delivery dates etc.
No one knows. That is BS! Someone has to know the answer to any production or delivery related question. It's always easier to say " we don't have an answer".
My 2 cents
|02-23-2012 06:19 AM|
I checked and there are dealers with parts operations on the web that seem to have them for about $400 each as accessories.
|02-23-2012 01:10 AM|
Today the dealer stated a week to ten days before they would resume production.
I have little faith in their assumption.
Still no VON.
|02-22-2012 05:34 PM|
And I basically don't want the base wheels. Which is making me rethink ordering one entirely and waiting to see what comes around for '13.

Last week my dealer told me that the 7-spokes weren't in the system as a choice anymore. Either discontinued or temporarily not available. No updates since.....
|02-22-2012 12:26 AM|
I get it. I can't imagine that they would start production without all of the parts.
I must have missed a cut-off of some sort.
I hope that this is the week that the hold comes off.
Anyone out there that has recently ordered a JKU with 18" spoked wheels? Did your order go through?
|02-21-2012 09:37 PM|
|keegs54||i hate to beat a dead horse speeder but i have the same wheels as you and my jku sahara just went to paint today. got varifacation from jeep, 2 hrs. later my salesman called and told me same thing. and jeep vots had it in paint. now im assumming they wouldnt start a jeep unless they had all the parts. at least i hope thats the case. also its suppossed to ship 23rd|
|02-20-2012 07:23 PM|
No new color. I was off. The color is the Cherry Pearlcoat.
Emailed Jeep today and got a response. It is true that the 18 inch 7 spoke wheel is back ordered without a fill date.
If you are placing a new order, beware.

Absolutely nothing special.
Black Cherry, tan leather, 19" wheels, 373 gear,6 speed, body colored top and climate control.
All off the rack , impossible to find on any lot. Seems 95% os Saharas are ordered with an auto trans.

|02-20-2012 03:00 AM|
After a month or two I would have been buying off a lot.
|02-20-2012 02:42 AM|
|magician||i sure no one wait longer than me, i have order the RHD on 7/18/11, build on 10/12/11 and finally they put my jeep to train last week2/16/2012, hopefully i can get it next week, i wait over 6 month.|
|02-20-2012 12:11 AM|
In that case, I have a dealer giving me a line.
I'll email Chrysler and see if I get answer tomorrow.
Thanks for the information.

Has anyone heard anything additional on the wheel hold?
Is there a number at Chrysler, (I mean Fiat) that might have an idea of when a wheel back order can be filled?
|02-16-2012 04:55 PM|
